Meet Jade Withrow

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jade Withrow.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jade. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started teaching myself how to tumble at 3/4 years old. Around nine years old, I had my parents enroll me into gymnastics; this is where I learned all of my techniques and most of my tumbling. I voluntarily quit gymnastics and took a break for a few years; I then became good friends with a cheerleader and would go to practices with her — I fell in love instantly!

Fast forward 2018: I was the first athlete to be signed on to Navarro College’s Cheer squad (without having to try out). Navarro Junior College is the most well-known college in the nation if not in the world for being the best in Collegiate Cheerleading. It was actually my first-ever college cheer team (Navarro 2018–2019 season). This also happened to be the season Netflix decided to document the team for the docuseries I was briefly featured in: “CHEER.”

Has it been a smooth road?
Some of the challenges I face deal with experience. I have only been cheering for about eight years – whereas other squad members have been cheering for 15 or even 16 years. To be placed at the top and center of the pyramid and be the top flyer for Navarro Cheer really encouraged me to push myself and put in a ton of work to make up for my lack of experience. I learned in just eight years enough to put me where I am today, and that required an immense amount of practice and commitment. I will also be the first woman in my family to graduate college. I am thankful for everything my parents have sacrificed for me to be where I am today!

We’d love to hear more about your work.
My website JadeWithrow.com is created by Group Millennial — a branding and marketing firm headquartered in Beverly Hills, California. The company CEO, Kamilah Ferrari, took notice of me on the Netflix docuseries and contacted me regarding representation. Together, we have worked in growing my social presence as well as my brand as a whole. I teach/coach cheer lessons and classes on my official website to students of all ages and from all over the world. I have also gained a variety of professional modeling and social media influencer opportunity.

However, apart from virtually coaching cheer through my official website, the next thing to look out for will be my fashion line! Fashion has always been a huge part of my life. Even as a young child, I would want to pick out all of my outfits for gymnastics (rather than just having my mom pick them out for me). I believe that fashion acts as an amazing display of self-expression and really shows one’s true creative individuality. Something that sets me apart in terms of coaching is that I work with students of all ages, I coach in Spanish, and my pricing is very affordable. Fashion-wise, my brand will feature lots of unique festival pieces, including pieces I’ve actually created and sewn myself!
