Meet James Holmes of Hollywood South Atlanta in Marietta

Today we’d like to introduce you to James Holmes.

Thanks for sharing your story with us James. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
First of all, put your Creator First is what I say! We are one person removed from being Blessed or being a Blessing. I say that Why? I went to UCLA. Being born and raised in New Orleans, I have never had a problem with respect. Yes, Sir or Ma’am just rolled off my tongue. Respect leads me to house sitting for extra money. One night a four-hour house sitting job turned into a twelve-hour house sitting job. Upon me hearing vehicles rolling up to the domicile, the first thing that I see is a big Uhaul truck and that was my first impression of the people that I encountered after that. The first man that I met introduced himself as Ron. Fast forward four months later. I had to do an entertainment internship at UCLA. I again called my good friend and stated I needed to do an internship and at that point, she tells me, James, Why don’t you call Ron? I said to her, really I’m not trying to be in the moving business and that when I was informed, James, Ron manages Michael Jackson. My advice is that you never know who you are talking to so Treat everyone with respect in this business. I had a long career with Ron Weisner Management, Los Angeles and New York. We handled the careers of Michael Jackson, Paul Mccartney, George Michael, and the Georgia Native, Gladys Knight. It has always been important to me to give back what I was so freely given.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I worked three jobs when I first got to Los Angeles. The thing was that two of the jobs I was a food delivery guy on carts, and when you bring people food they automatically have a love for you, and when I feel Love, I give it back. That taught me that people can give you a lot more than you ever came to take.

Hollywood South Atlanta – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Hollywood South Atlanta brings content to Life and relocating from California to Atlanta and being around Live VIdeo and Music my whole career. I have always felt that music guides a theme of a story, the vibration, and the sound sets the tone. Coming out of New Orleans and having the earlier experiences of Los Angeles, we have a propensity to add soul or feeling to otherwise bland and redundant projects. Because of coming out of California and being from real-life neighborhoods, we feel comfortable with bringing Hollywood back home to the South and especially honored to be in Atlanta, where Dr. King, Mr. Manard Jackson, The honorable Andrew Young to name a few started their legacies. There are so many souls that laid their lives on the line so we can have this experience. We are working with seasoned filmmakers that have relocated to Atlanta such as Deon H Hayman (12 movies to his credits) and are currently shooting his next project, as well as, our current project that we are in post with involving young filmmakers such as Caleb C. Lorentz and Quinn Reeder. In March 2020 for Our made for T.V. Series in Atlanta Ga. we are looking for talented female dancers (professional) ages 18-35 . Please send head shots with Bio. To : Hollywoodsouthatlanta@gmail.com. The youth is our future! With proper contacts, we can break down the old glass walls and ceilings. When you are not comfortable with what you see, Just change it! Hollywood is Hollywood and being here in the South, which is home especially here in Atlanta, we are developing and excited about the new energizing fresh content that we are so blessed that the young filmmakers are coming to us with their content because of our experiences in this industry and our contacts.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career thus far has been working with the youth and young filmmakers. It is an exciting new experience to allow them to flourish under our guidance and see new ideas, new content, and fresh new material manifest on a screen in our time. Just Awesome! I love the kids and all the possibilities of what the future holds.
