Today we’d like to introduce you to James Hunt.
James, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I learned everything I possibly could about credit, how to build credit and the laws pertaining to credit and I repaired my own. I actually started my business out of an Atlanta area Starbucks. Every single morning I would sit at the table with my laptop computer and an empty coffee cup. I would have an imaginary conversation with a pretend client, discussing all of the steps I would take to improve the pretend client’s credit. In no time, customers in Starbucks would overhear my conversations and come up to me and ask questions.
I would pull up their credit reports right there in the store and help them. In the evenings, I would work from Fed Ex and mail off their credit disputes to the Credit Bureaus. Once people received their results, they were so happy that they would refer people to me. After the word started to get around, in no time I was working with high profile people and celebrities who became my clients.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think that nothing of importance ever comes easy so, the answer is no. But, all of the struggles that I have gone through has served to make me who I am and what I am in my business as well as in my personal life.
Please tell us about Excellent Credit Builders, LLC.
My company is called Excellent Credit Builders, LLC. I am a celebrity wealth management expert and credit specialist who is behind the financial prowess of many of the nation’s biggest athletes and celebrities in arts and entertainment. These stars make millions and millions of dollars, however, what most people do not know is that they face similar issues to those of the everyday person – debt and poor credit.
I help them to get their finances in order so they can purchase their plush mansions, buy their exotic cars or handle any other important business matters that require good credit. As a result, I have earned the nickname “The Credit Guru of Atlanta.”
I am extremely proud of the growth and reputation of my company. What sets me apart is my relentless work ethic and my ability to deliver the best results for my clients. If they want something, I make it happen.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
When I was a child I dreamed of having a successful life. I heard stories and saw on TV visions of what Hollywood looked like and I was thoroughly impressed with the celebrities, especially African-American celebrities of that day in time. I had a vision of somehow working with them and working for them and being a part of that lifestyle. What I see now is basically a dream come true.
