Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie and Terrance Anderson.
Jamie and Terrance, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We are a husband and wife wedding planning and design team that both share a love for events. We met on a blind date right before Thanksgiving in 2008. We knew we found something special in each other. Terrance popped the question on Valentine’s Day of 2011. We couldn’t wait to begin planning especially since we both share a love for planning. Our wedding was inspired by the Disney movie Aladdin. With our love for being unique, we gave our guests an experience. Our flower girls held genie lamps instead of baskets and we chose a private mansion as the venue that looked just like the castle in Aladdin. We married on 9.10.11 and from there, it seemed like everyone we knew began to get engaged. As we helped our friends tie the knot, we saw a love for planning weddings together. After the birth of our first child, we knew it was also time to birth our first business together. The Veil Bridal Concierge was birthed on January 1, 2014. It just took off from there. We found ourselves planning magical weddings in Florida, Savannah, Puerto Rico and at some of the most sought-after venues in Atlanta. What makes us special is that we look at our company as more than a business, it is a ministry to us. We pray for our couples and inspire them to invite God into the wedding planning process and after the I do’s. We knew we found our calling, when we were voted 2017 Couples’ Choice Award Winners presented by Wedding Wire. Not only do we love each other, we love what we do and that love reflects in every wedding we touch.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Having the opportunity to work with your spouse and best friend is golden because where one is weak the other is strong. We have learned so much about each other throughout the years and learned that we have different working styles. However, we decided to use them to our advantage. For example, Terrance is the king of budgets, contracts and negotiation. Where Jamie loves connecting with her couples, making things pretty, and being a listening ear and shoulder to cry on to her brides.
The Veil Bridal Concierge – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
First and foremost, we want you to know that we are so excited to join the VoyageATL family and we are extremely thankful for this opportunity to share our story. We believe doing this business together is what sets us apart. Having a male’s perspective present for the groom is for sure an added bonus. Terrance is an experienced model that loves fashion and likes to make sure each groom is GQ ready for his bride. Also, Jamie practiced as a Licensed and Nationally Certified Professional Counselor for many years and that experience definitely comes in handy. What we do best is making sure our couples are handled with love and care. It is simply magical watching all of our months of planning come together on their wedding day. We love when we get to welcome each couple into our TVBC family.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
We personally define success as having a love for God, family, friends and people. Also, being able to satisfy all the needs of our family while doing the things that we love and are passionate about.
