Meet Jamila Frazier of GlambyMila

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamila Frazier.

Hi Jamila, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My passion for all things creative has transcended into every aspect of the work that I do. Having originally grown up in the Dallas area, I’ve always been inspired by the idea of where hard work and dedication can take you. While I’m still learning and growing as an entrepreneur (and have a long way to go), I’m committed to being a positive asset to the beauty community and using that platform to create spaces and opportunities for others.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
While there are many pros to being a makeup artist/entrepreneur, it can be challenging when the beauty community seems oversaturated. There are many times that I’ve had to take a step back and tell myself that while the next person may have a bigger platform, more clients, more clout, etc., there’s always room for other talented people regardless of where you’re starting from. Back in June of this year, my Instagram account was hacked and while that may seem miniscule in the grand scheme of things, it was definitely a setback because I had to start over/rebuild my social media presence. However, as one of my favorite sayings says, every setback is a setup for a major comeback.

We’ve been impressed with GlambyMila, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My brand, GlambyMila, specializes in all things beauty: makeup-artist services, hair extensions, lashes, etc. I’m proud of the fact that my brand represents entrepreneurship from the ground up and provides luxury products at an affordable price. As an advocate for education, my brand and the support of my customers has also provided me the opportunity to give back to the youth in my local community who are the generation of future leaders. An expansion of my brand, GBM Cosmetics, constantly has new products launching and we hope to take our products on the road in 2022!

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
One thing the pandemic has taught me is that interaction with your community is so important. The outreach aspect of being an entrepreneur is without a doubt a necessity, and if there’s one thing that the Covid-19 crisis has taught us all, it’s that we need each other now more than ever.
