Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamin G. Walker.
Jamin, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My name is Ja’min G. Walker. I am originally from Roselle, NJ. I moved to Atlanta in 2017 to pursue a career in Acting and Modeling. Since I’ve been in Atlanta, I have had the opportunity to have cameos in music videos with know artists and producers such as Taytoven. I’ve also made an appearance in some movies such as Barbershop 3, All Eyez On Me, Boomerang on BET, Coming 2 America, and independent projects such as the “SELF” the series just to name a few. I always had the entrepreneurial spirit growing up in New Jersey. While here in Atlanta networking with multiple entrepreneurs from different parts of the entertainment industry, I felt the need to start Mvp Entertainment along with my partner Marcus Washington because of the struggles I faced trying to get into the Entertainment industry with little knowledge or guidance. We wanted to provide the tools to people trying to get into the Entertainment Industry.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My road has been far from Smooth. On April 13, 2014, I lost my grandmother Lily Jenkins and on September 13, 2016, I lost my grandfather Willie Jenkins. They both played a huge part in my life they meant the world to me. After my grandfather passed away, I became really weiry. I lacked confidence and was no longer motivated to pursue any of my dreams. Until one day, I woke up, something came over me and I decided to go full force with everything that I wanted to accomplish because I know that’s what my grandparents will have wanted me to do.
Mvp Entertainment – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Mvp Entertainment specializes in Production, Management, Talent Development, Advertising, and creating different marketing strategies to promote the Artist or Actor. We also have MVP Sports Nation, where we cater to Athletes. Our goal is to provide our student-athletes with avenues to become successful in life other than sports. We want to create an innovative way of thinking in young adults so they can create change in the future as progressive adults. As a company, we are most proud of help getting our kid’s Scholarships to go to college. What sets us apart from others is we just don’t do just one thing. We are a one-stop-shop. We are the future.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t believe in good or bad luck. I believe in fate. I believe that everyone is predestined to fulfill a purpose here on earth and in order to discover your life’s purpose, you have to pray and have faith.
