Meet JaNessa Mitchell

Today, we’d like to introduce you to JaNessa Mitchell. JaNessa was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Marcia Blane.

Hi JaNessa, we’re so thrilled to have you sharing your story with us today. Maybe we can kick things off by having you introduce yourself to our readers? We’d love to have you go into your story and how you got to where you are today.

My story starts where most people’s begin, in childhood. Growing up, I struggled with low self-esteem and low self-worth. So, I often found myself in relationships, both romantic and platonic, starving for a sense of worth and unconditional love. I kept coming up short and heartbroken. Still, I remained in the vicious cycle of toxic relationships filled with physical, mental, emotional abuse and manipulation.

Fast forward to my being pregnant with my first child, my son. I was dealing with a recent break up and I was ready to put an end to the toxic cycle once and for all. I found myself wondering why I kept coming up short. I was desperate. I felt like a failure. I felt like giving up! And I now had this life that I was responsible for. I was determined that I did not want my child to suffer the same fate as me and knew I needed help.

That’s when my mother introduced me to Ms. Marcia Blane. We began therapy sessions and unpacking all of my childhood trauma and current beliefs about my past, my life, and myself. Simultaneously, I was also seeing a Life Coach, Ms. Robyn Robbins. It was like I was being double-teamed with help for healing. It was tough! I am so grateful for these ladies and their love and support!

After releasing and healing from a great amount of MESS, I began to see myself clearer. I was able to discover my identity and God’s purpose for my life. I had finally gotten to the place of love and realized that all along I had been searching for it in the wrong places. The unconditional love I needed could only come from ME. Once I gained this revelation, I knew I had to reach back and help other women in similar situations as me to reach their full potential through reaching inside to find that love they so desperately desired instead of outside. Thus, Ja’Nessa the Self-Love Coach was birthed and I then gave birth to “Agape: the Best Love Coaching”.

I am still on my journey of loving and honoring myself authentically, but now I get to help others get there! As I walk my own path, I make it my mission to share all that I learn with others so that they too can be free, healed, and LOVED.

Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?

As a certified Life Coach, specializing in Self-Love, I partner with my female clients to heal from their past traumatic experiences to clear the way for them to begin to identify and love themselves authentically and unconditionally. You can’t love someone you do not know!
I believe that what sets me apart from other Life Coaches is that I am a believer and also a Georgia educator. I use these backgrounds and experiences to help me create unique, personalized plans for each client to meet their self-love and self-worth goals. My life’s work is all about empowering others to discover the greatness within themselves through knowledge and wisdom. The thing I love most about my work is that none of my tears are wasted. As a teenager I always said that if I could use what I’ve learned through pain, trauma, and abuse to help just ONE little girl, then I count it all worth it. Now I get to help more than just one little girl. Seeing women of all ages heal for real and step into themselves in love is one of the most beautiful rewards for the work I get to do.

Marcia Blane and Peculiar One Counseling & Consultant have been great to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship with them as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Marcia Blane and Peculiar One Counseling & Consultant and your experience with them.

As I mentioned, I met Marcia during one of the lowest points of my life. I had come to the end of myself and had nowhere else to go. I was at a crossroads between giving up and accepting defeat or pushing through in hopes that this time would somehow be different.

Counseling with Marcia has helped me to get real honest with myself so that I could heal. I realized that most of my life I was surviving on this ideal I had created of a perfect story, a perfect love, a perfect life. I was also a professional VICTIM. My life was happening TO me. I took very little accountability and Marcia helped me work through those things. In order to identify an authentic life, you have to be honest with yourself. You have to be able to acknowledge the good, bad, ugly, and beauty of you and your life and make the decision of whether you will accept it as is or change it.

Marcia has a no B.S. approach to her counseling. She walks authentically and that makes room for only authenticity. Her sessions are not a pity party for your woes. She gives homework. She challenges you to see things for yourself. She expects greatness out of you. She cheers you on in your successes, and gives you the redirection, or as I like to call it, the kick in the behind when you need it. Working with her is WORK. It’s a commitment to you and it’s intentional.

“Agape: the Best Love Coaching” exists, in large part, because working with Marcia has given me the tools to live my life authentically and access the true me that is capable of healing and loving myself unconditionally.
My work as a Self-Love Coach is focused on empowering women of all ages to get the unconditional love they’ve been seeking from others, from SELF. It’s a blessed work and I’m honored to do it.
