Today we’d like to introduce you to Jarvis Corry.
Jarvis, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started my business in February 2013 at the age of 21. I had just married my middle and high school sweetheart with whom I shared one son. Prior to starting my business, I was in the streets until I got into a little trouble, which cost me to completely turn my life around. I didn’t know what I wanted to do but I did know that I wanted to be legit so that I could have something to pass on to my kids. My uncle originally helped come up with carpet cleaning as an idea. I figured it could be very lucrative, so my wife and I began researching and a few days later I purchased my first van with a portable machine. In the beginning It amazed me that so many people could support me although I only had this small portable machine compared to bigger companies with more equipment. That’s how I knew this was for me! So I vowed to myself that I wanted to grow as a man as my business continued to grow. Now seven years later. Here I am, with two company vans, truck mounted equipment, multiple contracts including daycares, trucking schools, Staples, etc. and a very wide range of residential clients. I have done work for celebrities such as T.I., Tiny, Shekinah Jo, 21 Savage, Young Scooter, Jazze Pha, and many more. So to say that my business has grown over the years would be an understatement!
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. People only see the success, but they don’t know about the long nights working trying to build my brand while being away from my family, the days when I didn’t get any calls, so I didn’t know how I would feed my family. Or The days when my equipment or van would have problems, and I couldn’t work. Nor the times when I needed small business loans from the bank, and I was denied. Everything I have is what my wife and I built through hard work, dedication, patience, and prayer!
