Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Holland.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jasmine. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started my hairline not long after my mom’s passing. The name, the color scheme, the mission statement, and other dynamics of my business is all inspired by her. Also, I always wanted to start my own business because my dad stresses the importance of having multiple sources of income all the time. I will be starting law school in January and they do not recommend that you get a 9-5 due to the substantial amount of work and time that law school requires. Since I can not work, I decided to start my own hairline, Lady Ice Extensions. I wear hair extensions often and I have developed a comprehensive knowledge about what quality hair looks like. The hair industry was lacking hair companies that offered quality hair with affordable prices and my companies values both quality and affordability. Overall, God, consistency, and family is the reason why I was able to start my hairline with little to no mishaps.
Has it been a smooth road?
Smooth road? Absolutely not! There are so many things that I didn’t know or take into account when I began the process of launching my hairline. There are still many things that I am currently learning. The biggest challenges are marketing strategies, time & money management, delegating task, and self-doubt (probably the most difficult obstacle). The fear of my business not flourishing was a mental obstacle that I had to persevere from. I realized that I’d rather my business fail than to have not tried at all. However, it is doing fairly well now and I am glad that I didn’t allow my fear of failure stop me from doing something that could potentially change my life. So many businesses fail within the first year. It’s not because the business didn’t do well or didn’t have the potential to do well. Most times, it’s because the owner didn’t have the motivation to keep trying. I refuse to be that type of owner.
We’d love to hear more about your business.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Atlanta, Georgia and the metropolitan area is a place of limitless opportunities. It’s practically a smaller Hollywood. However, being that the city is so big, it is easy for small business owners who have something to offer to get overshadowed by more popular businesses. That is to be expected. I believe you work harder when you are considered the underdog. You see your true abilities. The dream is free, the grind is sold separately. Atlanta is the perfect place to start a business if one is willing to put in the work.
