Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Holmes.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jasmine. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started my business almost a year ago in October of 2019. When I was a kid, I was fortunate enough to travel the world and go to different countries and see different cultures and throughout my travels, I found my love for crystals. In the year of 2007, my family and I traveled to South Africa, while being there we visited a local crystal shop in Johannesburg where I saw the most beautiful crystals that came in all shapes and sizes. As a nine-year-old, I didn’t know crystals could help you with your health or well-being. I left the shop with two very important stones, amethyst and rose quartz. Learning about crystals made my stay in South Africa very special. As a result, I began to study and collect crystals.
Unfortunately, my family and I moved around a lot when I was younger. Consequently, I lost the crystals I collected over the years. Recently, my admiration for crystals was reawakened by visiting the Tellus Museum and viewing the crystal exhibit. From that moment on, I took the necessary steps to relearn everything in this field and start my dream again. Books, online courses about crystals, visiting local crystal shops, and going to crystal shows aided me in learning and starting my business.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Starting and running a business has not been easy. Each day I make sure progress is made, regardless of how small that progress may be. Such as daily posts on Instagram, updates on inventory, and answering crystal related questions on Twitter. Due to the lack of a secure marketing strategy, I went an entire month without a sale. Although this month was difficult, it taught me how to be humble and resilient. Another challenge I had to overcome was silencing my self-doubt and intrusive thoughts. The belief that I could achieve anything I set my mind to was essential in keeping and maintaining my business.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I officially launched my business Crystallizzed Co on July 11th, 2020. I specialize in crystal healing which is an alternative way of medicine to heal people and help them achieve any personal goals they may have set for themselves. My job is to choose and supply high-quality crystals that help enhance any particular area someone may need assistance in. Each crystal has its own special property, which means how it is forged into the earth and the chemical properties that make up that crystal. Crystals also have their own vibration and that vibration carries its own energy frequency. For example, a person may need help blocking negative energy in his or her life. High-vibrational crystals that help block negative energies are black obsidian and black tourmaline, their vibration is so intense you can feel it in the atmosphere and their frequencies allow them to draw out and block any unknown negative forces we can’t see or feel. My job is to simply supply high-quality products to my customers so that the energy in the crystals is not disrupted and therefore the crystal is not defective. One does not simply “buy” a crystal the right terminology for it is “adopting” a crystal. Think of it this way, with every crystal you adopt you are inviting new and high vibrational energy into your home. Crystal healing uses the crystal’s energy to help an individual heal in ways we scientifically can’t explain. The crystal acts as a vessel and through this practice, it helps an individual obtain personal goals they have set, help promote healthier lifestyle choices, and helps cleanse their spiritual body. My business grows every day, I learn new things about conducting business, different marketing strategies to use knowing my audience that is what I am most proud of. I make sure that everything is secure and safe in all my packages. I love leaving a personal handwritten note and telling each customer how grateful I am. It’s my own personal touch.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was the kid with the biggest smile on my face. I was often bullied because I was always the shortest in my class. For that reason, making friends and trying to fit in was a constant struggle. The bullying never stopped me from being open and kind. My optimism allowed me to be open to trying again, always hopeful for new opportunities. As a kid, I was very family-oriented. I loved spending time with my dad. We would go fishing for hours and binge watch all the Star-Wars movies while stuffing our faces with pecan ice cream. My older sister and I loved watching music videos and downloading new music to our iPods, seeing which one we wanted to make our ringtones. My mom and I would bake different desserts together for the rest of the family. I was also adventurous as a kid. I loved going to amusement parks, state fairs, camping trips, and traveling outside the country. Not every moment of my childhood was perfect but through it all, a smile always landed right back on my face.
