Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Magee.
Jasmine, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Hi! My name is Jasmine, and I’ve absolutely loved being an esthetician and working in the beauty industry for the past 6.5 years. I first began my career in esthetics, working at a day spa. I was there a little over a year performing skin care services such as customized facials, body scrubs, and body wraps. From there, I really wanted to perfect my waxing and learn the art of sugaring. I started working at a premier waxing/sugaring studio in The heart of Buckhead. I worked there a little over four years, servicing a high volume of clientele, which even included celebrity clientele. My goals while working there were perfecting my skill set, building my clientele, and obtaining new certification from different esthetic courses.
Today I specialize in skin care, full body waxing and sugaring for both men and women, microblading, precision brow shaping, and dermaplaning. Owning my own business has always been a dream of mine. In April of 2019, with the love and support from my husband, friends, and family, and some hard work, I made it happen! At J.Vanity Esthetics, I use the skills I’ve mastered over the years, to make every client feel their most confident and beautiful.” Vanity” to me is all about the attitude and the vibe my clients get once I’ve completed my service. My goal is to customize each service to fit my client’s needs while still being efficient and thorough. I’m very excited to continue to grow my business and give all of my clients the J.Vanity experience.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Actually yes!! It has been pretty smooth. The transition was almost seamless. It’s scary. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. But at the same time, I know I have the knowledge, skillset, and a beautiful workspace to continue to run smoothly. I do have days where I wish I was busier, but I’ve learned to trust the process. Success isn’t built overnight, and I know if I keep pushing myself and being consistent, I will be completely booked on a daily basis.

I specialize in full body waxing and sugaring. I’m really fast but still thorough. Brow shaping and tinting, Microblading and Microshading, dermaplaning, and skin care facial services are coming really soon. A lot of my clients know me for bomb brows and quick Brazilians. What sets me apart is my beautiful studio!! I use gold wax, and I keep everything super clean and sanitized. My decor and color scheme is white, gold and a pretty turquoise and I have a beautiful chandelier; it looks like a jewel box. Clients are wowed when they walk in. I even have a small tv mounted that plays Netflix, to distract from the pain of waxing Microblading services. I also have loyalty cards, so clients have something to look forward to.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was such a tomboy. It’s so funny because seeing me now people would never think that of me. I was probably the furthest thing from any esthetics. My interest then and still now was animals. I really wanted to work with Steve Irwin (May he continue to Rest In Peace) when I was a kid. I was very outgoing and very friendly. I was always making new friends; which is still true today.
