Meet Jasmine Small

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Small.

Hi Jasmine, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story involves several emotionally trigger events. To keep it light, I have learned from my mistakes and through lessons, life has taught me. Having gone through no communication from my father to this day… finding lost siblings, mothers alcoholism, sexual abuse, mothers death and my mental health complications. Today, I am alive and standing as a 26-year-old African-American woman who is currently a PhD student, Young Professional, Boutique Owner and content creator/model.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Working on my mental health through faith and with support has led me into a new way of thinking. Having grown up in a community where understanding mental health was not prevalent. I was raised to embrace it from my grandmother. At a young age, I did not believe a psychologist would benefit me. Nowadays, seeking mental treatment is not such a “bad thing,” I’ve realized. It’s not meaning that relying on doctors for help is the way out of poverty or helplessness but yet it is holding yourself accountable for the energies individuals allow into the universe that will pave a future for society.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a free-spirited individual. There was a point in time I used terms to define me now I find peace in just being. Master of International Business, Florida International University Class of 2018, Fall.

Currently a student at Northcentral University, Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration with an emphasis of Organizational Leadership. Modeling as a hobby someday hoping to be a full-time high fashion model. Having achieved several awards through Visage Fashion Company at Georgia Southern University. Model of the Year and Best Model Walk, in 2016. Student turned Advisor, now independent creator. Having achieved positions such as Budget Analyst I in the Office of the Vice-President of Student Affairs Enrollment Management at Georgia Southern University from student assistant. I give my glory to God for making it to this point and pray for success in my future endeavors.
