Meet Jason Dunn & Michael Peters of 2 Gays & A Design in Vinings

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Dunn & Michael Peters.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jason & Michael. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We’ve been together for 14 wonderful years. When we first met we never would’ve imagined being where we are today with our business. We were both in different careers until 2009 when a friend of ours asked us if we’d ever consider being an interior design firm. Lightbulbs immediately illuminated over our heads. From that day on, we became sponges, learning everything we could. Little by little, for better and for worse, we have grown together more not just as spouses, but as genuine partners. Because we both kept the faith throughout the journey, we’ve solidified our company’s mission statement: to create, to “fabulize,” to live.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road could’ve been bumpier. There were plenty of moments where we could’ve thrown in the towel. But, having each other’s shoulder to lean on, we are prepared to face the unexpected. There is nothing worse than a client absolutely hating everything you envision for them. In fact, the hardest struggle is trying to convince someone to step outside their comfort zone. It’s a lot harder than most people think.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are a full-service interior design firm. We specialize in residential and commercial design. From building custom homes to turning an abandoned warehouse into a boutique law firm, no job is too big. We are known for being eclectic, avoiding the norm, but staying within the box of reality. We are proud to be not just partners in business, but in life as well. We offer two unique points of view that can mold into one fabulous creation.

What were you like growing up?
Jason is high strung… a perfectionist. He’s an introvert, but with the right “lighten up” button pressed, he breaks out of his shell. Michael knows how to press that button. A big extrovert, Michael brings a sense of humor and playfulness that clients need. Jason and Michael know the right balance to deliver professionally and know just how to relate to other couples struggling to find common ground.
