Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Thrasher.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jason and Lamon. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve been working as a professional photographer and artist in Athens and Atlanta for the last 20 years. I’ve always tried to photograph people and things that are close to my heart. I’m a portrait photographer first and foremost but I’m also attracted to objects and landscapes. I’ve photographed musicians for most of my photography life and published my first book Athens Potluck a few years ago.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Hell No… Being an artist is hard. Most of the struggles take place in my head but at the end of the day, it’s all worth it. I wouldn’t trade this life as a photographer for any other profession.
Thrasher Photo – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My wife Beth Thrasher and I run Thrasher Photo and Design, an ad agency in Athens GA. We work for a variety of local and national clients. We do photo, video, web, print, and marketing. Beth is a talented writer and I’m pretty good with my cameras. When we met, we knew we were each other’s creative match.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Skateboarded more and maybe moved to Hawaii in 2000 and built a business there. I could have spent the last 20 years surfing.
