Today we’d like to introduce you to JASON-X.
JASON-X, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Started rapping in the 6th grade, be doing it ever since had my 1st release when I was 18 and my 1st single on streams just last yr with TRAININDAZE, was performing more actively before covid happened.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Grew up poor lmao, sold snacks, CDs, videogames to make my own extra money so I wouldn’t have to rely on my parents who were struggling themselves. Dad died from cancer last year an hour after Father’s Day. We stayed with others, in hotels and motels more than apartments and houses, I know more about VCR/VHS and antennas than cable lmao.
Can you give our readers some background on your music?
Well, I don’t see myself as just a rapper I’m an artist. I produce my own music, I write my own music, I make my own cover arts, I do my own promos, I direct my own videos I’m involved in every part and I intend to continue that the further my career grows. I’m known for my sound being different than any other thing out right now with others, not knowing how to approach my beats because it’s so unconventional. I’m most proud of my drive, I would have to say and my wittiness.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would definitely have not hung around certain crowds growing up, chose to be a kid versus being a man since 16. I would have more fun and be more careless but honestly, I wouldn’t do anything differently because then I wouldn’t be me and I love myself
