Meet Jelicka Mallory of Unlimited Cuts and Styles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jelicka Mallory.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have been interested in hair ever since the 6 grade. But when I graduated from High school in the 8o’s. It wasn’t considered as a good profession to make a living. So I went to nursing school and got married to a military man. Which put me in a position to travel from country to country. Being able to learn and study the hair and scalp of different cultures in an on the job training at the military salon. But when we came back to the states, I didn’t like the way stylists worked in salons in my town. So I started working in the ER of Doctors Hospital which I enjoyed. But had to leave due to hours. So I went to St.Francis Hospital medical records, which I didn’t like. I quit and went to DOLLY Madison. I was there about eight years and said to myself. My husband is getting ready to retire, I have to go back to school. Which I did. I made the last 2years double up for me. While I worked full time at Dolly Madison, my daughter was a full-time college student in Albany Georgia, my husband was still in the service dealing with the war and I was in school during the evening classes at Columbus Technical College. But as time went on, we all finished the course. I put in my early retirement at DOLLY Madison and went behind the chair as a full-time Hairstylist. Working at Master Cuts. Where it all came together for me. Work there three years. Went to a private salon for two years. Became an Educator at Columbus Technical Cosmetologist for three years. Birth of my salon in 2009 (Unlimited Cuts and Styles). And this is when I was able to complete every stylist in building her professional experience up that worked in my salon. As clients come into the salon, I was able to brighten their confidence within themselves in Beauty and Spirit. Which makes me a Successful six figures Happy Hairstylist. Doing what I love, giving people the Best hair care services at a reasonable price.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Yes, it has been a smooth road. Because I follow the State Board Rules. I had stylist who did agree with it. So I just canceled their contact.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I service men and woman. I do everything but quick weave styles. I specialize in extensions, color, natural hair and cuts. I’m known for extensions. What sets me apart from others is that I retail extensions and I only install what I sell. I use only professional products and tools. I learn the products and tools .so I know without a doubt what the end going to be. I brand Virgin human hair for 14 years. My hair will last for years as long as you use the proper hair maintenance. Guaranteed.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Without my husband Keith Mallory and daughter Teasha Johnson supporting me. My journey wouldn’t be easy. The stylist who I have worked with has helped me.
