Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenn Vickery.
Born and Raised in Atlanta, Jenn is the Senior Director of Digital Strategy at Nebo. She received her Bachelor of Science in Management with concentrations in Supply Chain Operations and Marketing from the Georgia Institute of Technology—GO JACKETS!
Under Jenn’s leadership, her team has been recognized alongside the most prestigious names in the industry at events such as the AMYs, ADDYs and AiMA Awards. She has spoken among her peers at digital marketing events around the country, collaborated on an eBook with fellow Nebo team members and is an active member of the digital marketing community. Jenn served as the President of SEMPO Atlanta in 2014 and is a member of committees for both AMA and Atlanta Ad Club. In 2013, the Technology Association of Georgia named Jenn the 2013 Up and Coming Marketer of the Year at their annual TAG Marketing Awards.
When she’s not busy with digital strategy, Jenn can be found exploring the Atlanta BeltLine, enjoying a crossword and her favorite IPA on a patio or brainstorming backhanded comments to use on UGA graduates.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Is it ever? I’ve changed focus multiple times throughout my career, but I’ve always been lucky to be surrounded by super talented people that support me along the way. It’s critical that you find your support group that’s always there to reassure you during times of uncertainty.
Please tell us about Nebo.
Nebo is a human-centered full-service digital agency and has been my home for the last 10 years. I’m currently heading up marketing strategy and have the privilege of working with some of the intelligent and talented people in the industry. If you ask anyone that works at Nebo what they’re most proud of, I think you’ll get a similar answer: we want to make the world a better place. I feel like we’re all working on making that happen and have been lucky enough to be a part of some amazing organizations like Operation PEACE, the Beltline, PAWS Atlanta, the Eames Foundation, and Hope Hill Elementary. At the end of the day, we want to bring humanity back to advertising and make a positive impact anyway we can along the way.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I’m a big believer in trusting your own decisions and knowing that everything you’ve done has been leading up to where you are now. If I had to choose, I would have sought out more mentors earlier on in my career. Could have saved me some sleepless nights.
