DC Slogan, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Four years ago, I started a clothing brand for young women around the world! Being a young black man, I knew this was a different concept. I knew I would stand out. I started this brand in hopes to fight exploitation of women. I see so many beautiful woman that hold powerful positions and have so much influence on other young girls in society but, I also see a lack of romodels. There was a shortage of women being a lady. I’m a father of three girls and I want them to feel comfortable with what they wear but, I also want them to cover themselves up and be aware of what message they are giving with their clothing. My brand stands for something that is needed; Self-respect! Our women are jewels without makeup and without having to expose the body. #bealadylove.
Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been four years and counting since I started Be A Lady Love. I am still working daily on ways to expand my brand and there have definitely been some ups and downs. I feel blessed to have such a supportive team around me. This idea came to me from out of nowhere. I remember not knowing how I would make clothes, or get an LLC, or even what direction I wanted my brand to go in. I have even broken machines and had to buy new ones. The hunger and ambition that I have to see my vision fulfilled just won’t allow me to give up. I’m a fighter who stands for what I believe in.

Well, I’m DC Slogan the owner of B.A.L.L. (Be A Lady Love). I create the designs and content, I do the production of all products, I lead in marketing, and a number of other things. I always knew that Be A Lady Love was a great idea. My brand has no competition because I created my own lane. I’m fighting for what’s true and what matters to me. B.A.L.L. is something that can and will go global and that’s what I’m most proud of. I claim it everyday. Be A Lady Love WILL BE GLOBAL!
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I feel that Georgia is a great place to do business because there are so many influential people that it’s easier to get exposure. Sexual exploitation and sex trafficking are prominent issues within this city as well. I believe if we had more role models and more people to speak against exposing our young women, than we will have a fighting chance. B.A.L.L. will be the change that our young ladies need.
