Meet Jeremiah Smith of Double Arrow LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremiah Smith.

Hi Jeremiah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I moved to Georgia about 4-1/2 years ago to get out of a the world of being told what to do. I was a lineman for a power company In Akron Colorado for 14 years and had always had a desire to be my own boss. I had the opportunity during Covid and took the bull by the horns. I am a motivated person, a family person and go getter. I started my current business with a skid steer by getting certified to install silt
fence. Quickly found out that the market for installing silt fence is very saturated so started looking for something that would keep us busier. Joined a business group called BNI in Peachtree City to help get our business name out there. While in the group I found a business that was selling and thought this might work. I bought the Decorative concrete curbing business and ran with it. As I have been working you find that some things are seasonal. This is one of those businesses. So, I had to look for something else to fill the gaps of jobs. My cousin that has lived here in Georgia for 37 years kept telling me to not turn down any concrete work. This is not something I had interest or desire to do. After hearing that for a few years I saw gaps and had to add to the business and now we do concrete flat work I our service area. As a hobby I do silversmithing, making turquoise jewelry. This is our family owned and operated company. I love my wife and our four kids!!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
This has not been smooth road for me. I moved an across the country to a state and city that I knew nothing about. I was met by my neighbor shortly after we moved here to Georgia and I explained what I was doing for work and said that I was starting my own business. As I made the comment I was quickly met with “ good luck staying a business not knowing anyone and not being a native from Georgia.” I am the type of person that if I am told I can’t do something or it is going to be hard…… I am happy to take that challenge and prove that I can do what I am told I can’t do.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We do decorative concrete curbing and offer concrete flat work. We are family owned and operated. I strive to be that guy that will call you back if you leave a message, offer five star service and provide the highest quality customer service and quality work. The thing that sets us apart from many others is that we offer communication with our customers as the process of work from start to finish. We make sure that you are getting what you want. If it is not something that we do, we will get you a good referral of someone that offers the same quality of business that we do.

How do you think about happiness?
My number one thing that makes me happy is my family of course they are my support system on this crazy ride of owning a business and trying to figure out what all goes into having your own business.
