Today we’d like to introduce you to Pastor T.
On April 3, 2011 Pastor T, as he is affectionately known, was appointed Senior Pastor of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Newnan, Georgia, thus becoming the youngest to ever Shepherd the now 114-year-old church. Under his administration, tremendous growth took place in Membership, Ministry and Outreach. January 1st, 2017, Pastor T began the assignment as the Senior Pastor of Living Faith Tabernacle, located in Forest Park, Georgia, making him the incumbent of founder Dr. Chris Bowen. After three short years, the church has experienced massive growth. Planting several campuses across the state of Georgia and Nairobi, Kenya. Pastor T is a talented singer, songwriter, and musician who has traveled extensively throughout the United States. His travels have afforded him the opportunity to share the word of God through many venues.
Pastor T holds several degrees, which includes a BA in Biblical Education and Philosophy, a BA in Business Administration. He also holds an MBA in Business Administration. Through God’s grace and his desire for continued education, he is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership at Oral Roberts University. He is the face of Men’s Health for prostate cancer.
Pastor T has published and released several publications, “The Let Go Effect”, and has completed his second publication “Leading the Millennial Church”. Pastor T has served as Vice President of the NAACP Coweta County chapter. He serves on the Board of Directors for the House Children’s Sex Trafficking organization, he Serves on the Board of Directors for Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and he is an active member of Habitat for Humanity, and the National Professional Businesses of America.
Pastor Tuck loves spending time with his lovely wife Akila, and their four sons, Jeremiah, Ayden, Austin, Jaxten and Avery. Despite the fact of having a very busy and involved schedule, he understands that his steps must be ordered by God for there to be any success in his life. He has an unwavering passion for ministry and youth and strives to reach people where they are while guiding them to their appointed destiny. His mission through Empowerment, Impact, and Influence is to reach and encourage the lost and broken-hearted as they seek a place of Refuge. With hopes to lead and guide the Body of Christ to their full potential while embodying spiritual Christianity.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Growing up in extreme poverty, God allowed me to overcome obstacles of education and poverty. There was always the little voice in the back of my head that kept me doubting if I could come out of any of the things that life had thrown at me. The hard road has made me into a strong, self-sufficient being who loves God.
Living Faith Tabernacle – what should we know? What do you do best?
In October of 1998, God blessed Living Faith with 27 acres of land at 5880 Old Dixie Road, to begin the fourth expansion program. On June 2nd, 2001, Living Faith moved into this beautiful new facility, which seated over 600. The church soon experienced so much growth, that construction was necessary again, and the 5th project was begun. This was completed by June of 2003, doubling the seating capacity to around 1500. This building has 21 classrooms, a bookstore, and a modern youth sanctuary, which holds about 200 young people. A pavilion was built beside the church, which hosts wonderful times of food and fellowship. A youth game room has recently been completed, and 100 much needed additional parking spaces are currently being added to the property. What now serves as our sanctuary will eventually become the gymnasium, and the facility will be our Youth building, housing a complete K-12 school. We are also completing 3 sports fields. In the future, LFT will also house a High-rise for our seniors. The Lord is preparing us all for the growth He is bringing to Living Faith, and we look forward to breaking ground on a completely new sanctuary in the near future.
Living Faith has ministries and activities for all ages. The adult choir sings each Sunday Morning. Men’s and Ladies’ groups meet on a monthly basis to share times of fellowship and fun. We offer singles groups, substance addiction support groups, bereavement ministries, youth and junior choirs, a drama team that ministers many places, step and hip-hop teams, dance and flag ministries, many sports tournaments, such as bowling, golf and ping-pong, and something for everyone with monthly scheduled activities. We opened the Living Faith Christian Academy in August of 2002, providing loving, quality childcare to the community until April 2018. In August 2008 the Rising SON Academy housing grades K-5 through 6th opened, offering the students of Clayton County a Christian atmosphere in which to learn and grow academically until May 2012.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
There is no equation for success, but I do believe that hard work consistency and diligence will always pay off.
