Meet Jermaine J-Moe Moore of J-Moe The 1 Man Band in Riverdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jermaine J-Moe Moore.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jermaine J-Moe. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m from a small country town in south GA called Glenwood GA. Music has always been my passion. Rather it’s being a dj, playing the piano or recording. I come from a musical background. I started out rapping, singing and producing music. Next, I started throwing parties and I would dj them myself. Word got out and then people wanted me to dj their parties. Before you know it my name was out and just grew from there. I moved to Atlanta and it was slow at 1st because I was a new country boy to the city. I would do events for free just to get my name out there. Before you know it the phone started ringing and people were calling all over Atlanta.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It wasn’t easy. I was new to Atlanta. I always felt like I didn’t fit in coming from a lil country town to the big city. I couldn’t find a job, I was living with brother. Nobody would book me because they’ve never heard of me. I didn’t have the best equipment but it was amazing with what I had. I started to get out and meet people. Handing out business cards, showing up to random events to hear what Atl dj’s was playing. I was going to school at Atlanta tech at the time. That was 1 of my biggest networking tools. I’ve always had the attitude to use what you got

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about J-Moe The 1 Man Band – what should we know?
I have an entertainment company in which I dj, host, photographer, graphic designer, event planning and special event consultant. I’ve developed a one-stop shop. That’s why I call myself the 1 man Band. The reason why I work so hard is because of where I come from and I love to give back to my small hometown. So I use my platform to be able to give back. I like to keep everybody motivated from where I’m from. Not only that, I created A Live Facebook show called The J-Moe Show that’s dedicated to keeping people uplifted motivated and just to keep going every Wednesday night. I feel like it’s my purpose. That’s the most important thing in the world to me.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Good luck…… I think just being professional will take you a long way in anything you do. I was lucky to be raised by some real stand up guys (my brothers) that taught me about business and how to hustle.
