Meet Jermiya Wright of EagleEyeProductions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jermiya Wright.

Hi Jermiya, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my business because I was a wonderful star athlete with a lot of emotion, and just like many other people I used sports as my escape from things I was facing, and even though I was a good athlete I realized that no one really pushes for the athletes anymore that’s why the ones with potential are always quick to give up on their dream. I started recording highlights for the football players and making little videos for them cuz they played better when they know somebody on the sideline is rooting for them. They gave their all. Then it progressed to basketball. Then I started charging people because people don’t appreciate you till they have to come out of pocket. I don’t charge an arm and a leg because genuinely I care about these kids’ futures. I started off the recording from my phone so that they have the chance to see it in 4K and HD going 60fps, following that I gained a business partner, who has a very nice camera, so she lets me borrow it from time to time to take great pictures, so now day by day I work on becoming a better me. Not just for myself but the children.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road because sometimes the support isn’t there, but the struggle is keeping a positive attitude and continuing to push yourself to keep going because it can definitely kill your motivation for it. The people in your own town won’t support you, Another struggle has been traveling because you try to make it to almost every game, and support every kid you record for, to show them you care and cheer them on for doing a great job.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My work is surrounded around my personal safe place and it’s the basketball court. The basketball court has always kept me safe, it’s where I go to vent and release all my problems because I just play the game and that feeling just makes everything go away. I’m most proud of the exposure I’ve gotten since I started up and the fact that I haven’t threw in the towel, it makes me feel 100% more improved every day because you have good days and you have bad days, but even on my bad days I still don’t give up, because I know I’m 1 percent closer to making these kids dream come true and building my brand a lot bigger. I won’t stop until I see these kids go further in their dreams and their parents more prouder than before. What sets me apart from others is my understanding mindset and pure and genuine heart. I understand that I’m not the only one who looks at basketball as an escape, so the ones that does, I can help them the way I wish I was helped. I always try to be that person that I needed in high school.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is accomplishing the value of your roots. We all love our roots and where we come from. We all love what makes us human and what defines our character, but success is when you know what you can do, you do it, and you strive to become better each and every day in it. It’s never forgetting where you came from because understanding yourself and what makes you a better version of yourself is what makes you successful.
