Meet Jeromie Folson of Kindly Companions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeromie Folson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I did not set out to start a home care company. My journey unfolded through life, shaped by love, responsibility, and moments that quietly changed everything. Professionally, my background is in technology and education. I spent years working in IT and cybersecurity and teaching others how to navigate complex systems. But the most meaningful lessons I learned did not come from a classroom or an office. They came from home.

Caregiving became deeply personal as my mother’s health declined. I found myself balancing everyday life while trying to make sure she was safe, comfortable, and treated with dignity. Navigating care, coordinating support, and simply being present as a son was overwhelming at times. When my mother later passed away, the experience stayed with me in a profound way. It reshaped how I understood care, compassion, and the importance of being truly supported during vulnerable seasons of life.

Later, as a parent to a child with disabilities, I encountered caregiving from a different perspective. I learned how essential consistency, patience, and trust are when someone depends on you every day. Advocacy became part of my daily life, and I saw how much it matters when care is provided with intention rather than urgency. Those experiences shaped me and never left.

What stood out most to me was how alone families often feel during these moments. Many are doing their best with limited guidance, inconsistent support, and services that can feel rushed or disconnected. I kept thinking that care should feel calmer. It should feel respectful. It should feel human.

That belief led me to create Kindly Companions. I wanted to build a service centered on compassion, reliability, and dignity. We provide non medical in home care, including companion care, personal care, sitter services, and support for children and adults with disabilities. Everything we do is focused on helping people remain in the comfort of their own homes while giving families confidence and peace of mind.

What makes Kindly Companions different is the balance we bring to care. My background in technology taught me the value of clear communication and thoughtful structure, but caregiving taught me that connection always comes first. We combine both. Care that is organized and dependable, but always warm, personal, and rooted in respect.

Today, as we serve families across Metro Atlanta, I am reminded that this work is about trust. It is about showing up consistently and treating every client like someone who truly matters. Kindly Companions is not just a business to me. It is a reflection of my life, my family, and my belief that everyone deserves to be cared for with patience, respect, and kindness.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth road, but that’s partly because this journey is still in its early stages. Building Kindly Companions has required patience, learning, and a willingness to grow in real time. When you’re starting something from the ground up, especially in a field as personal as caregiving, every step matters and every decision feels important.

One of the biggest challenges has been laying a solid foundation. From understanding regulations and licensing requirements to building trust with families and caregivers, there has been a lot to navigate in a short period of time. I’ve had to learn how to balance vision with practicality, moving thoughtfully while staying committed to doing things the right way.

There have also been personal challenges along the way. This work is closely tied to lived experience, and caring for others while carrying your own responsibilities can be emotionally demanding. Some days require more faith than certainty, and learning to stay grounded through that uncertainty has been part of the process.

What I’ve come to appreciate is that progress doesn’t always look like rapid growth. Sometimes it looks like showing up consistently, listening carefully, and building trust one relationship at a time. Even in these early months, those lessons have already shaped how Kindly Companions operates and reinforced my belief that meaningful care is built with intention, not haste.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Kindly Companions is a non medical, in home care company serving families across Metro Atlanta. We provide companion care, personal care, sitter services, and specialized support for children and adults with disabilities. At our core, we help people remain safely and comfortably in their own homes while giving families confidence and peace of mind.

What sets Kindly Companions apart is how intentionally we approach care. This is not task based caregiving. We focus on consistency, trust, and real human connection. Every client and family has unique needs, routines, and expectations, and our care is structured around those realities. We believe care should feel calm, respectful, and dependable, not rushed or impersonal.

Our background blends compassion with structure. With a foundation in technology and education, we emphasize clear communication, thoughtful routines, and accountability without losing the warmth that makes care meaningful. Families know what to expect, caregivers feel supported, and clients feel seen and respected in their own space.

We are especially known for our work with families navigating disability care. That includes children who need attentive supervision and routine, as well as adults who benefit from patient, consistent support. We understand how important trust is when inviting someone into your home, and we take that responsibility seriously.

Brand wise, I am most proud of the heart behind Kindly Companions. This company was built from lived experience, not trends. Everything we do reflects dignity, reliability, and respect for the individual. Our mission is simple but powerful. We keep people home, supported, and cared for in a way that honors who they are.

What I want readers to know is that Kindly Companions is not just a service. It is a commitment to doing care the right way. One family at a time.

What does success mean to you?
I define success as creating something meaningful that truly serves others. For me, success is not just growth or recognition. It is knowing that families feel supported, clients feel respected, and trust is built in moments that matter most.

Success looks like consistency and integrity. It means showing up when it is not easy, doing the right thing even when no one is watching, and building something that reflects care, patience, and accountability. In this work, success is measured by peace of mind, stability, and the ability to help people remain safely in their own homes.

Personally, success is also balance. Being present for my family, honoring the experiences that shaped me, and creating a life and business that align with my values. If Kindly Companions continues to grow while staying rooted in compassion and dignity, that is success to me.
