Meet Jeshua Williams

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Jeshua Williams.

Jeshua Williams

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Yeah, I’ve been creating ever since I was really little, growing up in West Virginia. I have always wanted to make movies and films with anything I could get my hands on. I even recorded some stuff on my 3D when those first dropped. Then high school came around, and I fell in love with skateboarding and was always filming my friends or taking photos.

Shoutout, Undocumented Homies! Skateboarding has been a great space for me to experiment; much of my inspiration comes from that world. I graduated high school and didn’t want to do the college thing, and this non profit organization called Reimagine ATL has this fellowship program for kids around that age, I got in and I’ve been doing my own thing ever since.

Let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Man, the road is full of potholes, traffic is terrible, and just when you think you can hit the gas here comes a red light to stop you dead in your tracks. I think networking is my biggest struggle outside of pursuing my passion for filmmaking and photography.

I’m a quiet guy; I like to stay to myself. Being in this industry has pushed me to step outside that comfort zone, and seeing what’s come of it has been interesting. This road is full of uncertainty, I give thanks and praise to my lord and savior Jesus Christ for keeping me on track. I been a starving artist for too long, it’s time to eat.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a multimedia artist specializing in film and photography.

People know me for my work in the film industry, but I play around with many different mediums when I have the time. I can’t say I’m proud of anything I’ve done. I’m thankful for the opportunity to use my gifts to bless others.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
My advice for anyone trying to network is to be yourself. I know it can sometimes feel very transactional, but at the end of the day, we’re all just people.

We’re all trying to do our best and create amazing work. Networking is still something I’m trying to work on. I’m a very antisocial person, so going to events can be draining for me. I told myself that 2024 is the year I started reaching out more.
