We will like to introduce you to Jessica Cox, CCC-SLP and Toya Butler CFY-SLP.
Hi Jessica and Toya, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Two years ago, my sister and I decided to step out on faith and open our own speech therapy practice specializing in pediatrics and adults. We started doing home health in the Stockbridge-Mcdonough-Locust Grove area. Shortly after, we were able to transition into a brick and mortar.
Every day, we strive to give our clients the voice they deserve!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The process was very smooth for us, even in the middle of a pandemic. We have experienced some growing pains; however, God continues to answer every prayer.

Speech Evolve Therapy Services was founded in April 2020. Ms. Jessica Cox and Mrs. Toya Butler serve as the owners and function as part of the therapy team. Ms. Cox received her Bachelor of Education with a concentration in Speech Pathology degree from the University of West Georgia in 2015. She received her Master’s of science with a concentration in Speech Pathology in 2018 for Southern University and A&M College. Mrs. Toya Butler received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Speech Pathology from South Carolina State University. At Speech Evolve, we offer services to children with various disorders such as developmental delay, autism, articulation disorder, expressive and receptive language disorder, fluency, pragmatics, etc.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Having a business during the pandemic has taught us a lot. One of the most important lessons we have learned is we cannot live in a crisis forever; however, it is important that we redefine normal. Sometimes, being uncomfortable generates new ideas.
