Meet Jessica Harris of Ignite UR Glow

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Harris.

Hi Jessica, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am the mom to three mini versions of myself as well as the CEO to both Living Simply Jess, LLC and Ignite UR Glow, LLC. My busy mompreneur hat doesn’t stop there as I am also a 5x published author, podcast host, blogger and more. I love talking to people and motivating them to shift their mindset to a more positive lens versus sulking in negativity. This desire has been there since childhood, but recent events have turned that desire into a roaring flame. Watching the demise of my long-term relationship come to an end after a decade was one of the major stops in my journey and why I believe that our mindsets have to come into alignment with our purpose. When I became a single woman with three children, I had to reevaluate my entire life. I had to go back to the drawing board and allow God back into my life fully to lay out a proper foundation for me. I knew there had to be more in life than working a full-time job, feeling betrayed and confused about what the future held. I knew that I needed to shift the way I saw myself and my circumstances in order for any headway to be made.

If I chose to remain stuck, then what good could I be for those that I wanted to help? I needed a transformation. One that would stick and not be disrupted at the slightest movements of the world. The transformation I needed could only be done by building up a relationship with God. It was in the building up of my prayer life and journaling that I was able to renew my mind and possess a God-given mindset. Once I saw what God was able to do for me, I knew that I needed others to get into a position for God to do the same for them. My relationship ending was the end of one chapter and the start of another. It was after my mind was renewed that I had the clarity I needed to write my books, create journals, blogs, podcasts and more. That betrayal thrust me into my purpose. Now I am able to help other women do the same thing for themselves. us.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
If you would consider walking on eggshells in your own home smooth, then absolutely. Just kidding. My journey was nowhere near smooth, but it was worth every twist and turn of the rollercoaster ride I was on. I think many of us can agree that living through a pandemic has not been a cakewalk by no means, but I also have to consider the events that took place in the midst of that as well. Prior to my relationship ending, we had almost lost our two-month-old to Cold Agglutinin Disease. It’s a disease that destroys your red blood cells. In his case, it left him clinging to his life with no way to determine how long his brain was without an adequate amount of blood. Needless to say, my plate was more than full without me having to go on a self-discovery journey as well. These events hit within five months of each other. As we adjusted to a sense of a new normal, we were faced with another pivotal shift. So smooth is definitely not the word I would use. It was this bumpy road that led me to create my blog Living Simply Jess which allowed me to help other parents stay encouraged while they were going through similar events with their children. From there, things started to take off one step at a time. The highlight is that our baby survived and is doing wonderful. The deficits that the doctors were afraid of have not taken place and I give all the glory to God for healing him and allowing him to be a walking miracle for others to take note of.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Ignite UR Glow is a movement for focus-driven women in Christ who are looking to break down the barriers of self-limiting belief systems, old mindsets and more. We are here to help women come out of hiding in the shadows of their former selves so they can start walking boldly and confidently in their God-given purpose. Ignite UR Glow wants women to truly acknowledge their value and learn how to cultivate it properly for themselves and in their business. We believe in being a resource globally impacting change in the lives of women via multiple streams of media including books, journals, blog posts, podcasts, YouTube and more. In the summer 2022, we will be expanding our services to include group coaching, online courses, eBooks and more. The tools and strategies that these ladies will learn will allow them to take up space in any industry they are in. Before you can change the world, you have to change your mindset. Allow Ignite UR Glow to help you transform your mind, your business, your wellness and more. One of the proudest moments I had this year was being able to publish my book, Pain Tried to Bury Me Alive, But God Revived Me along with two journals entitled Believe Again Prayer Journal and Dear God Journal. I know the journey of rediscovering myself was not only for my benefit but to help other women who need to rediscover themselves as well. Pain Tried to Bury Me Alive But God Revived Me will help many women see the pain that they are in and watch how God can convert it into purpose.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up and even now many would say I have the gift of gab. I can talk your ear off and not grow tired of it. I wasn’t just good at talking, I’ve always been a great listener too. I was often the friend therapist who gave advice on life, relationships and more. I was the friend you could count on when no one else was around. In my quiet time, I read a lot, journaled and went on bike rides. As much as I loved hanging out with my friends and family, I treasured my alone time. It was the time I had to reflect and to create. I love colors so anytime I got to paint or write in multiple colors, I would. Even in my quiet time in my room or at the kitchen counter.
