Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica “jynxx” Johnson.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jessica. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
I’ve been a creative as long as I can remember. I could never quite make myself feel at home in corporate America. And one day, I woke up and decided to do something about it. I took my part-time passion and created Creative Edge.
It wasn’t easy, but from a little dream, we built a thriving creative firm that has serviced the likes of Willie A Watkins Funeral Home, Tech Square Labs, Rashan Ali, Ed Gordon, Moody Construction, David Banner, and the Oakland voter initiative Do It For The Town with Marshawn Lynch.
Offering services like branding, brand strategy, graphic design, and websites, we give our clients a creative edge- the edge that they are missing to set themselves apart.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Challenges came in the form of understanding when to expand, staffing, and growth management. I think these are normal challenges that one has to figure out in the process. People management, also.
I think when dealing with people, it affords you an opportunity to learn to communicate more effectively and set clear and precise expectations. It requires me to sometimes check my ego or feelings at the door, and that’s okay. Every day in business as an entrepreneur is a chance to grow and stretch. And that’s the beauty of it.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Creative Edge story. Tell us more about the business.
I really want to start with what I’m most proud of. We come through for our clients, no matter what it is. With strategy, with creative support. As creatives, we sometimes get a bad rap. And we’ve had many clients that came to us with a horror story. We’re proud to help businesses flourish and go on to do great(er) things.
We are a full-service creative firm offering graphics, web design, photography, content creation, brand strategy, and communications strategy. We’re different though. With a flare for the creative, we give our clients clean and professional aesthetics, without sacrificing personality, or results.
Even if you don’t know the right questions to ask, we can help there too. Consulting is a major part. Have you considered…? What would work best for you…? How can this be improved…?
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Atlanta is amazing. It’s such a vibrant city. It’s a creative hub that rivals no other.
Least fave? Probably traffic and the winter cold. I always thought Atlanta stayed warm almost year round. And year after year after year I’m reminded…
