Meet Jessica Mack of Southern Vegan Soul Cafe in Macon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Mack.

Jessica, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I personally became vegan eight years ago. I was extremely overweight almost 400. And I had to make a change. So I began to cook and bake vegan food. Started selling at the pop-up markets. Then starting a food truck. And now we have a restaurant. Serving my community with 100% vegan food and sweets.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Just reminding people that vegan food and tastes amazing. And it’s healthier has been a journey headed south. Staying relevant and informative is very vital for my business in particular.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I specialize in vegan food and desserts. We recently won the first vegan cook-off in Macon Georgia! We’ve also been in the Telegraph and many other magazines, news reports, and other newspapers.. the main thing that sets us apart from any other vegan restaurants in Middle Georgia is that we use wholesome ingredients. Are meat substitutes are homemade. As well as our sauces and cheese substitutes. We care for healing ingredients combined with Whole Foods and love to create masterpiece that will have you yearning for more.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up was fun! I had no worries. I was very outgoing and cool to get along with. I have a bubbly personality which always draws all different types of people my way. I loved singing which is one of my passions that I continue today. As well as styling hair. I am in artistic person and that has translated into the many parts of me. Everything about me is art.
