Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica McIntee.
Hi Jessica, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
All praises are unto God. I could not be where I am without the support system containing my family; friends and mentors 🙂 I began styling hair at age 12 and professionally at age 18. After completing my Bachelors and Masters at the University of West Georgia, I received my Cosmetology Instructional license from D’ Most Beauty and Body Institute. Throughout this time, my salon was home-based. After leaving a previous job, I opened a location in Lithia Springs and after some time I officially opened my “brick and mortar” in Austell, GA. Shortly following that move, I was able to open a second location in Orange Park, Fl.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A few hurdles that I had along the way were pertaining to; gaining self-confidence, maintaining mental strength and learning balance.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The Boss’s Shop is a full-service salon. We aim to accentuate a person’s beauty both inwardly and outwardly. A few services that we offer are natural styling; extension installations, barbering, loc care, make-up classes, etc. We also offer booths and suites for rental. What sets us apart from other salons are our ability to provide a comfortable atmosphere and conversation as well as great customer service.
The Natural Hair Academy is a program designed for anyone who would like to learn about natural hair and protective styling. We offer several courses such as; Braiding 101, Fashion Twist, Loc Care, Maximum Crochet Coverage, Extension Installation, Natural Styling, Marketing and even a Crash Course. Each class contains a lecture, demonstration and practical portion. All classes are taught and supervised by a licensed or experienced stylist.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I have always been very happy and active 🙂 I loved helping others and my interests reflected these traits. Most of my interests surrounded hairstyling, dancing, singing and creative projects.
