Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Muniz.
Hi Jessica, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My passion for women’s fashion was the reason to why Best of Beauty Boutique was brought to life. As a young teen, I have always loved fashion. Having a business of my own was always a dream, as a teen I worked at a women’s clothing store. I was so close to the owner, she taught me so much and that passion for owning my own business begin to grow with time. When the pandemic started, and with being a stay at home mom, I had lots of time in my hands. I begin trying new things until it hit me “why not start a clothing online business?”. It was always something I wanted to do, I would just underestimate myself. I was afraid at starting and failing, but with hard work/ dedication I have slowly been building my business. Believing in myself, my husband and kids supporting me has also helped me get to where I am today. As a business owner, I have so many dreams and goals for this business. It just takes patience, dedication, and prayer to get to where I want to be. Also, not only has my business grown cause of me. This business would not be a women’s clothing business without the support of all my customers. Even though I have more things to accomplish, till this day I have accomplished so much.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As for myself, it has been somewhat bumpy along the way. I started my business during a pandemic, which means it comes with good and bad days. Also, having kids and running a business is not always easy. Regardless, I am always thankful for the struggles that come with owning a business. I have learned that some days are awesome and have many orders, others it’s a struggle with items not selling and zero orders a day. Something I have learned and like they say, “some days you win, others you lose”. No matter how bumpy it gets, never give up on your dreams. Every business gets their time to shine, that is what I remind myself everyday to keep moving forward.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Best of Beauty Boutique?
Best of Beauty Boutique always tries to work on bringing clothing for all body types. We love making women feel beautiful, we also join many pop ups to try to get our business out there. Pop ups gives our customers the opportunity to come and see our clothing in person, to also feel our clothing material, and to see how high quality our clothing is. Not only is Best of Beauty Boutique known for selling women’s clothing, but also for selling jewelry. We offer gold-plated jewelry coming directly from Mexico, our fine gold-plated jewelry does not tarnish or rust easily. Recently, we added handmade polymer clay earrings. I personally found myself spending so much on earrings, therefore I decided to start making polymer clay earrings. At first, I started them making them for myself, then I figured it would be great to add to our boutique… We will continue to slowly work on bringing more items to our online boutique and in hopes that one day we can open our store.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Determination and creativity is definitely the two main import things to my success. One has to stay determined to start and finish what you set your mind to. Also, one has to have that creativity as you go.
