Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Rochelle.
Jessica, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My name is Jessica Rochelle. As a child I traveled and lived everywhere from Germany (where I was born) to Italy-but home for me is Virginia. I served in the United States Air force and am a combat veteran. When I separated from the military, I started modeling and doing marketing and promotions in Jacksonville Florida. Shortly after I became affiliated with The Core DJ’s as a promotional model.
I’ve had the opportunity to connect and network with several people in the entertainment industry. My passion for makeup artistry began when I started modeling. As a newbie, I didn’t necessarily have the financial capacity to have my own makeup artist on set, so I had to teach myself. One of my friends at the time, Tara, was a makeup artist and photographer who taught me a lot. Being mentored by her I was taught several techniques to include airbrushing. She was also my very first photo shoot I ever had as a professional model. Another friend and amazing artist, Ingrid, mentored me and helped guide me with the confidence I needed to hone in on my talents and passion for makeup artistry that I have today.
Every day I am striving to learn more about my artistry and grow my talents. I’ve had moments where I didn’t go as hard as I should have and applied myself to be as successful as I KNOW I can be. Shoot, we all have those moments, but the key is to never quit! Now as a makeup artist I am fortunate to work with some amazing people and projects. I have been nationally published in over 20 magazines in the course of my career as a makeup artist and can’t wait for what is next.
Has it been a smooth road?
I would be lying if I said that everything has been smooth sailing. A lot of my struggles have been me getting in my own way. Over the years in being in the beauty industry, I have learned to grow my confidence within myself. With the help of my family and close friends, I was able to get through the storm. I am forever grateful for them.

I am a freelance makeup artist and certified lash technician. I specialize in natural makeup and airbrushing. I feel that is very important when doing makeup to enhance one’s beauty and not change it entirely. I pride myself on that. I am also proud that makeup artistry just doesn’t stop there for me. I am self-taught on photography , videography and editing. Having these tools, I am able to create my own content that I need and also provide it for others. My goal is eventually to be a one-stop shop and to continue to explore and grow my talents in hopes to inspire others one day.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I do love the variety of the city! Everywhere you go is an opportunity to meet new and exciting people and to network. Atlanta is definitely one of the network hubs in the nation. The least favorite thing though is the traffic. . . I am sure several people can agree with me on that, lol.
