Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Jones.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jennifer. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
For many years, I have had an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for helping other people. I love to interact with people. My career started as I worked in nursing homes and hospital settings. I learned a lot in those environments, however, I wanted to focus more on my patients as individuals. I also desired autonomy. I eventually ventured into working for a private speech therapy practice. When the owner decided to downsize, she allowed me to keep my caseload. My business grew as my family grew. When I went on maternity leave with my last two children I had to hire therapists to cover my caseload. Referrals continued and they stayed on staff.
Has it been a smooth road?
I have encountered many minor struggles. From working full time at one point while building a speech therapy practice on the side to juggling being a mother of 4 children and a wife while running this practice. Also, as much as I enjoy treating patients the administrative side is very important. I have gained a healthy respect for the importance of the administrative side and have integral it is in running a successful practice.

We evaluate and treat children and adults with speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive disorders. Treating both children and adults makes us stand out as most places treat either one population or the other. Working with children and adults help us keep our skills sharp in a variety of areas. I’m very proud of the diversity of our staff along with the way we focus on our patient’s individual needs. There are four therapists besides me on staff here. Our office is open on Saturdays offering flexible scheduling options.

Yes, Lawrenceville is a wonderful place for a speech therapy practice! Lawrenceville and Gwinnett County, in general, is very family oriented. It is the perfect place to open a business that caters to our youth.
