Meet Joe Guster of The Urban Geeks in Suwanee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe Guster.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
The Urban Geeks originally started as Urban Geek Web Design which was started when a few family and friends had bad experiences with some web designers. I picked up a few projects to help them out but quickly discovered a need for reputable and knowledgeable web designers that could work with small businesses without breaking the bank.

With web design as a foundation, we expanded to offer additional services like photography and SEO. Once we added those services, we felt the need to rebrand from Urban Geek Web Design to The Urban Geeks.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. We’ve had all of the typical business struggles such as tough clients but also have had to deal with technical issues out of our control.

We’ve always taken each struggle and learned from them. Now, we are proactive on both the business and technical sides.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the The Urban Geeks story. Tell us more about the business.
The Urban Geeks specialize in website development/design and other supporting services. We work to ensure our clients have the best web presence as possible through clean and modern websites and great photography. Going one step further, we also offer services to help clients get discovered across the web.

Our technical expertise really sets us apart. We optimize everything to be fast but also user friendly. From simple websites to membership portals to online stores, our experience and technical expertise have helped numerous clients be successful in their business.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t really deal with luck. I think hard work pays off, and it has for us. One of my favorite quotes is “The harder I work, the luckier I get.” by Samuel Goldwyn.
