Meet Joey Cappucci of Conqueer Media

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joey Cappucci.

Hi Joey, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born in Brooklyn, New York. I moved to Georgia when I was 4 years old. My parents moved out here to provide me with better education and resources. Since the age of eight, I always dreamt of being my own boss. I started an invention journal when I was 11 and wrote down every good idea I had. A little over a year ago, I started working with a local Atlanta influencer, where my partner and I became her social media managers. In this time I discovered that I have a passion and skill for social media and that I wanted to make a career out of it. That’s how Conqueer media was born. The name is a play on the word “conquer.” Conqueer Media is focused on LGBTQ+ representation in media with a mission to grow LGBTQ+ companies and influencers.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has had a few speed bumps. It took me a while to accept myself for who I am and to express who I am to my family and friends.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Conqueer Media?
Conqueer Media is a first of its kind media company, focused on LGBTQ+ representation in media. I am very proud of my brand since it is something that I wish I had available to me as a kid. If I had seen myself represented in media or on television more, it probably would have been easier for me to accept myself when I was struggling with my identity. If one young adult or child out there sees Conqueer Media or a person/brand that we represent and think “I feel seen because of this” it will all have be worth it.

How do you think about luck?
I’m not so sure how luck has played a role in my life.
