Today we’d like to introduce you to John Gamble.
John, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have been self-employed for the last eight years working odd end jobs to pay my bills. I spent a lot of time trying to find myself and figure out what I want to do in life. I always had a passion for helping people in our community and wanted to have a business where I was making great money and changing people’s lives at the same time. A friend one day recommended the idea of doing credit repair, so I did my research and got CERTIFIED so I can learn the basics and fundamentals. Also, I practiced on many family members and friends for free so I could gain experience. I went through a lot of trial and error during the process trying to master the credit repair business as much as I can before I did any advertising. One day I ended up finding a video on YouTube where a guy mentioned when you want to be successful in your field – find the person that is most successful in your field learn everything you can from them and take that knowledge into your own business. So my next step was working for two mentors while building my brand and clientele. Through one mentor I was able to gain access to top celebrity clients in which I repaired their personal credit. I branched off on my own and applied that knowledge to everyday hard working people. I’m currently wrapping up my first book entitled “Credit – What I Didn’t Learn In College.” The book talks about how I got my start working hard at a young age to support my mom and siblings after my dad passed away. It empowers the youth of today and people to become more financially stable and end the cycle of poverty.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In my first year, I started working on credit repair I needed to sacrifice short-term money for long-term gains. So it was a struggle financially working on friends and family’s credit for free because I wasn’t bringing in any income. I’ve had to make a lot of sacrifices and work a lot rather than going out to get to my business where I needed it to be.
Being that there are a lot of scam artist in Atlanta and in the credit industry. It’s hard to get people to trust you. So it became discouraging because people didn’t believe credit repair worked, but I kept pushing. Now over 90% of my work comes through referrals.
