John, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Started making Edm music with my childhood friend Numa in high school. We djayed shows at Quad Atlanta connect lounge etc. produced and only sang to sample myself. Started getting into writing around 18 but never took it seriously made my first mixtape with my two childhood friends Numa/Yung Jupiter called Jupiter Tears 3. It was our first real attempt at finding a style. My buddy and producer Numa became terminally ill so I made him teach me everything he knew before his untimely passing which leads me to my debut tape Calendar that I released April 20, 2020, ft songs from the Bdo gang Dusa, Oshea, B1uan etc it took me like two years to make it.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Been pretty tough lost one my best friend’s producer and label mate to cancer he was my main source of motivation to do this cause all in all I never started this to be famous I just wanna be heard.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I write, produce, I’m a sponsored model for Currency Est and I’m a freelance stylist. What I’m most proud of hasn’t happened yet. What sets me apart from everybody is my creativity I hear music different in my opinion when I hear a beat, my mind is flooded with melodies and different cadences so making a song or writing for somebody becomes easier cause I can hear how a song should sound before I ever record it.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a socialite but I was an odd kid. I was off the porch but still was into what would be considered nerd things. I was known for dancing. I was real big into the krump era and jerking era. I had dance crews I would battle people so I’ve always been into entertaining or self-expression thru some form of art.
