Today we’d like to introduce you to Johnny Glanton.
Johnny, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started photography in 2012 when I bought my first camera. All I wanted to do was take pictures of a band that I was in so I could help bring attention to their social media platform. I found that I enjoyed taking pictures and remember getting many compliments for my work. My ex-wife loved taking pictures and I learned a lot from taking pictures of her even though she could be critical at times. When I scheduled my first paid photography gig I rushed and bought some professional lighting, put it in my car and before I could leave my ex-wife called me a “wanna photographer “. From that day on, I wanted to prove her wrong and I started to learn as much as I could and got better to the point of creating a business out of it. Never give up doing what you enjoy.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My main struggles were trying to build my clientele because I am naturally an introvert. However, I’ve managed to open up and enjoy the moments that I have and people I work with.
Please tell us about John Johns Art.
I am a photographer that specializes in photo editing. I am known for creative looks that the average person wouldn’t think of such as exotic makeup, fashion, nude art, colors, weddings, etc…I am proud that we have a team who truly loves what we do and always know how to create different looks to stimulate the mind. We are professionals, open-minded and fun to work with. What sets us apart is the fact that we are able to do more than just edit photos. We also create flyers, business cards, logos, posters, album covers, and prints. It’s like a one-stop shop experience.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I don’t think I would do anything differently because I like how far we have come. However, if I had to do change anything it would be to start the business a lot sooner.
