Meet Jonathan Page of InPrime Legal

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Page. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Jonathan is an attorney in an entrepreneur’s body. He thrives on helping CEOs and business owners rethink their next “blue ocean” and achieve breakthrough success in business and life.

In 2013, Jonathan left a midsized firm, where he served as corporate counsel for large privately-held corporations and small businesses, to found InPrime Legal – a revolutionary way for businesses to approach legal. In doing so, he left the bloody red ocean of the traditional “bill-you-for-every-minute” law firm model and created a “blue ocean” of proactive, strategic, and predictable legal services for small to mid-sized companies. Since then and in furtherance of a passionate vision, Jonathan founded Contract Sprint, a platform for small business owners to access quick, easy, and convenient legal documents delivered in minutes (rather than weeks), as well as BOAR Relentless, a consulting and strategic firm, focused on helping business owners achieve breakthrough success in business and life.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Scaling a business is never a smooth road. In my journey, I’ve raised millions and lost millions; I’ve had to terminate 40-plus employees; I’ve put a company through an assignment for the benefit of creditors based on a failed operation. You can’t avoid failure in business. You simply must face failure with integrity by doing right by others and then fail forward by learning what you can. Anyone who says that they had a smooth road in business hasn’t really tried to scale big or make a big contribution to the world, in my opinion.

We’ve been impressed with InPrime Legal, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our primary business is InPrime Legal. It delivers “done-for-you” corporate and employment law services to 7-to-9 figure business owners. Our focus is helping these businesses scale big and with confidence by aligning our legal services to their business goals. It has an innovative delivery model that gives business owners greater control over their legal spend and projects while helping them better manage cash flows. ContractSprint.com is a startup venture. It delivers custom lawyer-grade documents in minutes (not weeks) for a fraction of the cost of hiring a business attorney. We developed our own internal software, performed user testing with our own clients, and now have 10+ documents available for purchase, including an operating agreement and 1099 Contractor Agreement. And finally, we formed a business mastermind with our clients called BOAR (aka business owners achieving results). Our mastermind is filled with well-funded startups, 9-figure business owners and owners about to successfully exit their businesses (i.e. at 9-figure purchase prices). Our mission in BOAR is to help business owners achieve breakthrough success in business and life.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Everything is subject to change – the economy, the market, the playing field – and quickly. You must always be ready to pivot. We strongly recommend every business develops at least three offerings for their core products or services: (a) Do-it-yourself; (b) Done-with-you; and (c) Done-for-you. If you sell professional services, for example, you likely only offer a “Done-for-you” service. Can you develop a course or program that’s “do-it-yourself”? Can you include an upsell to a Coach or instructor (now “done-with-you”)? The same can be done for products and software. During COVID, one of our restaurant clients offered a Cooking Class package, where they delivered the ingredients to your doorstep and the cooking instructions, so you could prepare the meal in your kitchen (i.e. “Do-it-yourself”). By taking your core offering and developing different delivery options at different price points, this will help you be more resilient when the market or economy changes drastically and quickly.
