Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Brower.
Jordan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Well, music has been a huge part of my life since I was singing my the car as a kid. But the first time I ever played live was in junior high at my church, and then through high school, I spent most of my free time either practicing, songwriting, recording or playing sets at different restaurants and coffee shops to make money. As I started getting better with my writing, I started working with some artists and studios and having the opportunity to get better at performing and recording more professionally. It wasn’t long before I got into producing and finally became able to turn the music that I loved and got me through most of life into something audibly and physically tangible. I could make everything in my head into a real product, and as I grew in music I then grew in my ability to express myself and share it with others.
I love it – creating something that has meaning and gives a feeling – and with the opportunities, I was given and work I put in I find myself just trying to be the best artist, producer, creator, and person I can be. And as I make my move from the University of Georgia to Atlanta full-time, I’m surrounding myself with good people to keep me in check.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Compared to many people, I’ve lived a blessed life. I’ve gone through my share of struggles both inward and outward – there’s plenty of me versus me issues – but at the end of the day my stomach’s been full and my family’s been close. I’ve been trying to keep that mentality of appreciation lately.
So, in my ups or downs, I may not always be on an easy road, but I’m always trying to get better through the support from the people who are around me and believe in me.
And ultimately, I want to use what I have and what I can do to help myself and everyone around me grow and succeed.
Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
Well, I feel more confident in my vocal producing and songwriting than ever. I’m getting better with every beat I make lately too, and love getting to help write to them or put my own things down.
I’m one of the best song creators I know, and really try to grow and do better as I surround myself with talented, truly good individuals who love what they do and want to be the best they can be.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success as the recognition of the growth in the relentless pursuit of bettering yourself – and your work – through perseverance and trial.
Personally, no matter what I might achieve, I want to always keep in mind that there’s more to learn, do, and be. With every beat, get better; With every note, get better. With every struggle, get better.
