Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Jackson.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
BLXCK Clothing Company originally started out as a marketing project that slowly shifted into a t-shirt business that would later reach and inspire thousands of individuals inside and outside of Metro Atlanta. I was only a sophomore in high school at the time, and I began searching for a way to motivate my peers and adults around me. My goal and objective was to communicate a timeless and universal message that is bold, promotes leadership, provides a platform for creativity and spreads knowledge. Throughout my journey, I was influenced by my strong entrepreneur’s circle – individuals such as Tony Cruver (Cruvie Clothing), Jeff Jackson (The Tie Closet) and C.J. Stewart (Diamond Directors). These individuals helped shape and mold my t-shirt brand into what it is today.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There has definitely been some struggles along the way, and like other businesses, I have faced my own obstacles and challenges. As high school student, I am involved in many activities such Basketball, Cross Country, DECA, Black Student Union, Student Ambassador, and Principle’s Council just to name a few. My commitment in these clubs and organizations actually slowed down my marketing efforts and BLXCK Clothing Company felt an impact in t-shirts sales.
BLXCK Clothing Company – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
BLXCK Clothing Company was launched in the Spring of 2018. My passion for fashion empowered me to create a platform for individuality, independence and excellence. We inspire individuals to be BOLD, to have a sense of LEADERSHIP, to always be CREATIVE, and to fill yourself with KNOWLEDGE and doing this through fashion. As the CEO, I am in charge of promoting the brand through social media, word of mouth, interacting with customers, and bring forth innovative ideas for the company. I am most proud of the diverse impact BLXCK Clothing Company has on the community. Our mission is to motivate others first and sell t-shirts second, that’s what sets us apart from others.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career so far is receiving the 2019 Georgia Youth Leadership Award. This award recognized the top “21” high school students (leaders) in the State of Georgia. This award highlighted the outstanding impact I have had on the community through positive brand messaging [Bold, Leadership, Creative and Knowledge].
