Meet Josephine Leimamo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Josephine Leimamo

Josephine, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My story began before I even knew fashion was my passion. I was once told to look up cause the stars will align at the right time. I was young and didn’t really know what that meant. I had a love for law in high school,  so I just knew I was destined to study law and become a lawyer. Although I received my Bachelors in Legal Studies, unfortunately it  just wasn’t enough for me. I have always wanted to have a business of my own and be my own Boss, so I started to chase my fashion career shortly after giving birth to my son. As I was on maternity leave, I began to find my passion in the Fashion industry.  Although I did not know where to start in my fashion career, I was determined to give it a try. A good friend of mines, Alexis Holt spoke to me about styling because she believed that I had an eye for style. She allowed me to style her on her feature in Rolling Out Magazine and Mia Magazine in Atlanta and since then, I have been pushing my career in the Fashion Industry.

One day, I saw a post about being an intern for Kontrol magazine in their creative department and although I was a bit nervous to interview, I took a leap of faith and gave it my all. I landed the position and little did I know I was heading closer and closer to my passion for style. I started to work my way up from a creative team member to Model Coordinator to Assistant Creative Director and finally became the Creative Director for a while. I was even blessed with assisting Celebrity Fashion Stylist Julian Lark on magazine covers concepts and styling celebrity clients for local events. I even had the pleasure to work with some amazing celebrity photographers, celebrity makeup artists, and celebrity hair stylists. I am now finally at a point in my passion, where the stars are aligning and I understand fully what others saw in me that I could not see. I am reaching clients from all walks of life inspiring, encouraging, and empowering them to feel good while presenting themselves with their own personal style.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road of entrepreneurship is not a smooth road at all. I have struggled numerous times throughout my journey as an entrepreneur and have faced obstacles that have allowed me to feel discouraged. My biggest struggle is, of course, when building your own brand is going through financial struggles. Job security is another struggle, I have had to face. You never know when you are needed, so I do my best by promoting my brand and making everyone aware of the services that I offer and how I can help them grow their persona style.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I provide Personal Style Consultation, Closet Organization services, Personal Shopping, and more. My mission is to empower women, men, and children of all sizes to change their perception of themselves and enable them to tap into their inner selves through wardrobe and more. Additionally, I focus on providing services to develop a personal style for individuals, exude confidence, and ultimately help my clients feel comfortable in their own skin. The goal is to create a style based on individual personality and lifestyle, regardless of size.

What I am most proud of as a company is that I am helping women, men, and children feel and look their best for events, magazine covers, their website, and more.

What sets my business apart from others is that I truly care, listen, and understand what my clients want and need. I am not only locally but also virtually to clients who are not located in the Atlanta area.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans for the future is to have my very own Style/Image Consultant Firm. There is also more in store, so if you follow me on all my social media platforms, you can stay updated on where Josephine Leimamo is going NEXT.
