Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Jones.
Joshua, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
This journey started mainly during my high school years! I attended both Stone Mountain high and Towers High School. During my time playing Football and running Track I was never a great player, just your average athlete all across the board. In which that resulted in me not getting playing time, and even sent down to play JV Football my junior year in high school. Doing all I could do to be successful and still getting the short end of the stick always made me carry this chip on my shoulder.
My senior of high school, I rode the bench and didn’t receive a scholarship to play Football. So that led me to walk on at Gardner-Webb University! Finally having the opportunity to play college Football my sophomore year, I was forced by the university to return back home, due to a financial situation. Sat out of school and Football for two years, and transferred to Georgia Southern spring 2014.
Participated in three Football tryouts and was denied each time. This was the first time I experienced being rejected from Football, so I knew God had to be using me for something greater! The summer of 2015, after being inspired by “The Footdoctor” I decided to start sports and fitness training. For me, it was a smooth transition because I had been through so much adversity, worked out daily, and knew how to motivate! My last two years attending Georgia Southern I was blessed to train many athletes from the Football Program, walk on players, students, and local high school athletes.
Almost four years later my brand has grown to be a fairly known Sports Training Brand in Atlanta. I concentrate on speed, agility, footwork and position training! With a primary focus on Football/Track when it comes to sports. In addition, I provide fitness training as well, and just trying to grow in that area! My Grindseason Movement clothing is now my main focus, along with my book!
I train outside of Dekalb County, but also travel around the Metro Atlanta Area. I am blessed to say I have trainer as many athletes from youth- professional.
Has it been a smooth road?
Some of my struggles have been reaching a bigger audience, staying consistent, and mostly just trying to get others to see my vision.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Grindseason Movement Sports/Fitness Training story. Tell us more about the business.
My business is a Sports & Fitness Training Brand! I deal with primary Sports Training. I concentrate on Speed, Agility, Footwork, and Position Training. I specialize in Speed and Position Training.
I’m known from most as a detailed trainer, knowledge and intense. I am proud of the fact that I didn’t give up when others didn’t care enough to train with me.
The few things that separate me from other trainers is my attention to detail, actual game-like situations, and my intensity.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The next 5-10 years I plan to have two of the biggest training facilities, located in the Metro Atlanta Area, and Florida.
