Meet Josiah Agnew of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Josiah Agnew

Hi Josiah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
From a small town in South Carolina (Anderson, SC) I started making music in the church, introduced to music by my father. I grew up as a kid riding around listening to hip hop voguls like Naz, Talib Kwali, lyrical genius like OutKast, and Starlito. My journey as an artist began early. I’ve always been a creative, with a background in art and , I developed a unique sound and feel of originality that made it easy for me to express myself. At a young age I remember performing songs infront of my church, 4 years old, mic in hand. I’ve always been a rockstar. Landing me in rooms with some of the Biggest names in the industry. Receiving Co-Signs and producing body’s of work with artist like Hunxho, Seddy Hendinx, Lil Quil and more..

Fashion became a part of me, a form of expression in an every day format. I grew up poor, 1 bedroom 4 kids poor. Boiling water on the stovetop to be able to take a bath before school poor. So my sense of fashion came from a lifestyle of “making it work”. I developed a love for being able to turn hand me downs and thrift store loads into art. We didn’t always have the best quality stuff, but I treated hand me downs like luxurious decor. It allowed me to find comfort and individuality in having less than.

I carried this mentality into my adult life and it grew with me. The love for being able to turn nothing into something became more of an art form, a form of artistic expression. My Style of careless cleanliness landed me my first runway opportunity in November of 2024. The Young Atlanta 24” Fashion Show By gloabal designer @Hollyandroo. This was the beginning of what I didn’t know would become a career for me.

This Runway show sparked interest and more opportunities in the industry, landing me a chance to walk in New York’s Winter Fashion Week 2025. Styled and working alongside some of the most well known designers and fashion experts. And also bringing me the blessing of being signed to my First Agency, Currently Global.

My Faith in God and my ability to simply trust his guidance is solely the reason I am who and where I am today. I come from a life of wrong doing and unrighteousness. I made my mistakes and I have wronged many times in my life. However my trust and my faith has always been unwavering. I made it out of the world that a lot don’t make it out of. Drugs, Guns, money, and fast living. I lived through it, and God blessed me to see the other side. This is what the other side looks like for me. This is resilience in the flesh and the epitome of God’s Image.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I grew up in a small place where you had few options, you either played sports, worked the block, or worked a job. I did all 3.

My decisions haven’t always been perfect or the most wise, but they have shaped me to be the man I am today. My mishaps don’t define me, jail couldn’t break me, and fear doesn’t exist here. I’ve seen it all, done worse and been through the ugliest. From jail, to shootouts, to being homeless. I prevailed. And I never once lost faith in the Plan, I didn’t know what the plan was but I know I trusted it.

I’ve lost friends, family, and relationships but I never lost my faith in God or myself.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an Artist/Published Model

Specializing in music for the soul or the faint hearted. I’m most known for my ability to portray messages that many can’t perceive unless expressed in a way that is relatable and substantial. My body of work depicts vivid images and moments from my real life experiences. In a way that we all connect to. As well as my fashion sense, complementary to my body of work, my fashion style does just that. I grew into fashion it’s always been apart of who I am. My ability to do what others are afraid to do, or simply wear something that only I can pull off. I take pride in being able to make being yourself cool again. I believe that’s what sets me apart from everyone else.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Being featured in an article with you all would greatly increase my engagement and broaden my audience to a greater extent. I have music on all platforms under “BabyJo” as well as YouTube. And I have been featured in numerous magazines and blogs of the fashion industry. This collaboration is more than support, it’s my introduction to the world. I have BIG work and things in store in the near future in both areas! And I’d love for you all to be apart of this Journey.
