Meet Jzon Azari of Azarian Connection in South Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jzon Azari.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
In my senior year of college at Mercer University, I took on an internship with Oxygen Media to help better my chances at landing a job. However, the internship would later lead in a direction even I wouldn’t see coming. After I found out that I was working on a new development series entitled ‘The Face,’ my jaw dropped when I came across the name… Naomi Campbell. I took in all of the knowledge and made quite an impression on the staff that got me referred at a later date. Prior to graduation, I started a YouTube account for one of my favorite musicians and Miami rapper, Trina. Shortly later give or take two to three months, someone from her team reached out to me which lead me to become apart of her social media team for over six years. However after getting denied a few times after graduating college due to ‘lack of experience’ I began a blog “The Azarian” in 2013 which gave me an outlet to express my take on Hip-Hop culture as well as everyday topics that tended to interest me.

Shortly after I began to land a few popular interviews, one being Olympic fencer Ben Bratton which brought in hundreds of views that helped get me the attention I direly needed. Encountering a few business professionals along the way, a colleague of mines passed my resume to NBCUniversal which resulted in me working on Sisterhood of Hip-Hop for a few seasons. There, I gained knowledge of previous work I had as a stagehand and began to hone my skills as a content curator. A few weeks in, I was asked to help write on a few new shows that the network was ushering on to its USA Network platform. Holding my weight in the writer’s room, I took on a few more shows one being a food influencer for Chrissy Teigen on Tyra Banks’ FABLife while balancing everyday life and building my talents in the process. Afterwards, I’d continue to add to my resume until one day, I was approached to work with an artist by the name of Omega tha Kid. I had never in my life worked with talent and to no surprise, I was lost. However, I did not let that stop me. I studied up on how to be a publicist and learned from some of the best as I slowly but surely gained my footing. After about four years, I began to see the progress in all of the work I had down. I soon was recommended to work with a handful of other talents ranging from personal trainers to chefs that would intrigue me to start my own boutique agency, Azarian Connection.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It was never a smooth ride. Whenever I was getting one leg up, life came down on me hard. Going through three jobs while trying to be a television writer, I could barely make ends meet but through it all, I found a way to stay afloat, have my bills paid and maintain the necessities in life.

Please tell us about Azarian Connection.
At Azarian Connection, I do exactly what the name implies, connect. I help others connect with the world in a way that only some can only dream of, yet I make those exact dreams a reality. With patience and consistency plus a ton of wordplay to help put each talent that reaches out to me in front of the audiences that will assist in elevating their careers, I treat each as the superstar I see when they tell me their story that I put into my own words and share it with the world. I’m known to work with male models that I’ve helped go viral over the last few years with well-placed pitches and captions that total over 100M views and counting. I’m most proud of being able to see each client smile, that makes it all worth it. Even when a placement isn’t made, I realize that timing is everything and with the right amount of patience and hardwork things will eventually fall into place. I realize I may not be the top publicist or the most known one, but I see the world through eyes that see it all. I try to relate to everyone and place them in the best of light possible for at the end of the day they represent me and I like to look the best at all times no matter the occasion.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing. I questioned my journey from the start but looking back on it I realized that everything happened for a reason. The people that mislead me placed me on a path that only God had eyes on and for that, it has strengthened my faith and helped me motivate many others along the way. It still amazes me at when others say I inspire them and I’m just living my life while trying to sprinkle a little excellence everywhere I visit.
