Today we’d like to introduce you to Kai Bell.
Kai, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started in the crazy world of “fitness” while still in Corporate America in 2000 as a stress reliever. Now 18 years later and five national certifications, it’s truly been a journey and a labor of love. Over the past years, I’ve been able to travel the world while providing intense personal and group training.
During the course of building the fitness side of the “Kai Bell” brand, I got signed with an Atlanta-based modeling agency which opened the door for various television appearances, art galleries and then becoming a featured underwear and swimwear model.
In April of 2015, I took on a new venture and launched my swimwear line “Kai Bell Collection.” I was completely nervous, totally overwhelmed, but I sat in complete shock when my best friend told me “you’ve sold out two major styles within 48 hours.” At that moment, I felt that sense of relief that all business owners get in wondering if they’ve done the right thing. Now we’re in our 3rd year and the swimwear has been trending all over the globe.
The following year I launched the t-shirt line and the success has been just as large. Today we’re constantly doing reprints of our beginning shirts due to sellouts.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Oh, the road has been far from smooth. Anytime you’re self-employed there are constant struggles and sacrifices. I literally run three businesses (personal training, the swimwear line, and the t-shirt line) so not only is my day consumed with work, but I’m always having to plan and concept my next move. You always find yourself always trying to rise above a bar that you’ve created and others had set, yet while remaining true to who you are and your craft.

LMAO, I actually laugh when I get asked this question, “explain your business.” The “Kai Bell” brand is totally dedicated to aesthetics, how you look, how you feel, being the beauty you are designed to be. From the personal training to the group classes, the fitness side is structured in ensuring you become physically the “better you.”
The swimsuit line, “Kai Bell Collection” is totally committed in making sure you’re seen as the standout on the beach or any pool party, which is why part of our motto is “Beauty is being seen in Kaibellcollection.”
I have several things to be proud of when it comes to my fitness and fashion brand. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing your clients reach their fitness goals and they literally change into another person right before your eyes. The joy and accomplishment for the swimsuit & t-shirt line hits me whenever I see pictures posted from around the world of people wearing the brand.
Both the fitness and the fashion side have been labors of love. It’s taken a vast amount of hard work, sweat, and tears, but I’m able to step back and say “it’s mine, and I’ve gotten it this far.”
What were you like growing up?
If you had to ask anyone what I was like growing up as a child, they’d tell you “Kai was an overachieving, over studious, constant go-getter kid.” I had to be involved in every club, I had to keep a perfect GPA, I studied classical piano for nine years, clarinet for six years, I literally sang at every function and every event in both high school and college, was a track athlete in High School, competitive cheerleader in college, I basically never stopped trying to be better.
I do believe having the attitude of always wanting to overachieve and be better than I was yesterday, helped prepare me for who I’ve become today. As a child, I was always taught to build “Excellence” around you. As long as you’ve built “Excellence” around you, you always have that pool and network to pull from.
