Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaitlynn Kressin.
Hi Kaitlynn, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey started with a deep love for community and a belief that small businesses are the heartbeat of every great city. During my time at Mercer University, I saw incredible potential in our downtown — beautiful historic buildings, passionate people, and a growing creative energy. I wanted to be part of shaping that growth in a meaningful way.
My family and I started by opening Just Tap’d, a craft beer and wine bar focused on bringing people together over great drinks and good conversation. That experience opened the door to my next venture, Fall Line Brewing Company, a production brewery and taproom that has become a hub for community events, local partnerships, and statewide distribution. From there, I launched The Overlook on First, an event venue above Just Tap’d, and have continued to expand into real estate development and placemaking projects aimed at revitalizing downtown spaces.
Along the way, I’ve joined several local boards and organizations, including the Urban Development Authority, the Historic Macon Foundation, and Bragg Jam, because I truly believe collaboration is how we make lasting impact. Today, my focus is on creating spaces and experiences that strengthen community pride, attract visitors, and showcase all that Macon has to offer. It’s been a winding, hands-on journey built on equal parts creativity, hard work, and love for this city.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like most entrepreneurial journeys, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Building and growing multiple businesses while also investing in the community has been incredibly rewarding, but it comes with challenges. When you’re developing old buildings, you learn quickly that timelines and budgets rarely cooperate. There’s always an unexpected surprise behind a wall or under a floor.
Staffing and leadership have also been learning curves. Balancing the creative side of hospitality, such as events, new concepts, and customer experiences, with the operational side of running large teams, managing finances, and navigating regulations has required a lot of adaptability. The pandemic years, in particular, tested every skill I had, from pivoting operations to keeping morale high when uncertainty was everywhere.
But those challenges also shaped how I lead today. They taught me patience, problem-solving, and the importance of surrounding myself with people who care as deeply as I do about this community. Each setback has been a chance to grow stronger and more intentional about why I do what I do.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Fall Line Brewing Co.?
Fall Line Brewing Co. was founded on a simple belief that craft beer should be approachable, fun, and rooted in community. We wanted to create a place where everyone feels welcome, whether they’re a longtime craft beer lover or someone just wanting to gather with friends. Our goal has always been to make great beer that brings people together and proudly represents Macon, Georgia.
We’re known not only for our beer, but for the experiences we create. From community festivals and themed events to collaborations with local artists, businesses, and nonprofits, Fall Line has become a gathering place for connection and creativity. Everything we do, from the design of our cans to our taproom events, carries our signature phrase: “Proudly Brewed in Macon, Georgia.” It’s more than a tagline; it’s a reflection of how much we believe in this city and the people who support us.
Today, Fall Line beer can be found statewide in package stores, bars, restaurants, and grocery stores across Georgia. We’ve canned over one million cans of beer and are incredibly grateful to the customers and partners who helped make that possible. What I believe sets us apart is our community first mindset. We’re not just here to make beer; we’re here to be good neighbors, to celebrate what makes Middle Georgia special, and to keep raising a glass to the people who make it all happen.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
The best way to support Fall Line Brewing Co. is simple — enjoy our beer and share it with others. Whether you’re grabbing a six-pack from your local grocery store, ordering a pint at your favorite restaurant, or visiting our taproom, every purchase helps us keep doing what we love: brewing quality, approachable craft beer for everyone across Georgia and continuing to invest in our community.
We’re always open to creative collaborations and partnerships. Over the years, we’ve teamed up with artists, nonprofits, small businesses, and event organizers across the state to create limited-edition releases, community fundraisers, and memorable experiences. We love working with people who share our passion for creativity, hospitality, and celebrating the best of Georgia culture.
