Hi Kaiya, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, I’m Kaiya Harris and I’m a wedding/lifestyle photographer located in North Georgia. I’m so grateful I’ve been given this opportunity by VoyageATL. I want to start out telling you all a little bit about myself and how I got here as a photographer. I’ve always had the passion of being an entrepreneur since I was in middle school. I always wanted to create or start something new to sell or give away. I had an interest in photography from a young age and took many electives for it in middle school growing up. When I was in my sophomore year of high school, I realized that I wanted to use photography as my way to create & tell stories. I soon after realized I wanted to make a career of it as well. I officially started my business, Kaiya Harris Photography, in September of 2022 and things have taken off ever since. The encouragement from my friends and family has helped me get where I am today. Keeping yourself disciplined in your work, while also making sure you take time for yourself to be creative is what’s helped me thrive the most in my journey so far.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have been many obstacles in the road. When you set goals for yourself, and you don’t reach those goals as intended it can be very discouraging. When business is slow, you have to stay motivated and continue shooting even if it’s for yourself!
Another thing I would say is challenging in the photography world, is finding your own style and not be afraid to be different in your editing styles.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My goal is to make my clients feel comfortable and at ease during our photo sessions. I want to create memories and stories that you can hold onto forever, and create images that you can feel!
I specialize in Wedding and Couples Photography, but I also photograph families, seniors, lifestyle etc. I want to create friendships and bonds with my clients that last a lifetime, our experience working together will be one you’ll never forget!
