Today we’d like to introduce you to Kamron Bennett.
Hi Kamron, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Initially, my passion for fitness was born out of observation. As my grandmother aged, it became obvious that her lifestyle of daily activity and good nutrition was the cause of her youthful longevity. Well into her senior years, she wasn’t just alive; she was living! Her life inspired me to do the same. About six years ago, I met someone important in my life who encouraged me to pursue my dream and get certified as a personal trainer. After I became certified, I did some online coaching along with my full-time job working at a casino. Eventually, I took the leap, quit my job, and became a personal trainer at a gym. About six months of working there, I was offered a job as a personal trainer at another gym. I gained a lot of knowledge and experience from both of these jobs. An opportunity presented itself to me where I would be able to work for myself. I immediately took that opportunity. It was a risk. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to do it, but I have a lot of people who encourage me and support me and have helped me succeed to where I am today.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have had many challenges and obstacles along the way. Getting to where I am now has not been an easy road. The first year of my education, two of my close friends passed away. That caused a pause to my schooling, having to cope with that. I had also been struggling financially, working at jobs that didn’t pay enough, which made just survival a struggle. It was hard for me to stay focused, but I was determined to keep at it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a personal trainer and fitness coach specializing in corrective exercise. I work with individuals that suffer from muscle imbalances. It’s my passion and an amazing experience to be a part of people moving pain-free.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Although not fitness-related, I enjoy reading books that are about self-improvement and personal development. I enjoy the Andrew Huberman podcast on YouTube.
