Hi Kandice Fancy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have always been a very fashionable women from a teenager! Fashion played a lot in my everyday life because I have been big on my appearance! My Dad told me from a young girl they judge you off your appearance before you open your mouth so always be dressed well and my Mother was a seamstress so I dress well by her before I dressed myself! So it’s in me! I started my journey before social media era as a rap artist name Dmeanor and built several business relationships thru networking throughout the city! I did some amazing things as an artist I filmed a rap tv show that aired across seas and opened for Lil Wayne in Albany GA! The industry was hard on female rap artists so I became bored with music scene I wanted to stay a part of the art of music but behind scenes, so my childhood friend has a well-known Promotion Company called SmurfWorld and I began working with him which allowed me to meet more people and build a big Social Media platform!
Which I became known for always being Fancy! So when it came to business /boutique name, I used My IG name Fancy Dmeanor which have 28K followers! Many wonders where the name FD comes from well I used the name Dmeanor as a rap artist (Dmeanor = lasting impression) I felt my demeanor was always fancy so it was organic! I always wanted a clothing store and started the process in 2009 but got discouraged due to not having knowledge of business. Over years of being a part of the industry and my everyday life, I would always get the advice you should be styling or having clothes for sale! I would always think of that later and one day I said I’m gonna take a leap! I made a trucker hat and I hand-sewn the trinkets on there and posted it to my IG and the response was overwhelming and a confidence boost that I could do it!
So after six months of doing hats only (can I say I made 250 hats by hand). I decided then to add loungewear sets which you could chill in or work out with this people always inquired if I had other items and I said it’s coming soon so I set a goal to get website /more original designs and photos to make my business more professional as I started taking orders thru my IG DM first for hats and sets! I set a launch date for my website on my birthday 9/22/21 and business been great! Makes you proud you followed thru with a passion so you don’t look At it like work! I am doing a whole revamp soon and it is gonna be the talk of Atlanta! I also have been learning the business scene in Miami as I plan to open a store there in near future! Fancy Dmeanor is growing and thankful! My customers are like family and when they tagged me in their merchandise and their confidence seems thru the roof I know I did what I started this to do Make women feel and look great!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Definitely hasn’t been smooth! A lot of unnecessary money spent shopping overseas! Had to build relationships with merchants with the United States so boils get quality items at a reasonable price! With fashion, you must stay fashionable and up on trends so I have made some bad selections and it’s still sitting on stock so that’s a loss.

I own an online boutique called Fancy Dmeanor! I also offer personal shopping if someone needs something they can’t locate I will use my resources to find it and order for them. I specialize in ladies fashion wear! I am known for my original trucker hats and my original design sweatshirts. What sets me apart is I wear every item I sell so customers can see how it looks, ways to wear it and the confidence I have wearing it! That itself has sold more merchandise on my website than me paying for sponsorship ads on social media.
