Meet Kareem Francis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kareem Francis.

Hi Kareem, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey first started out doing sales with a bank Called MBNA. I was ranked within the top 10 of the whole division which consisted of over 400 people. Sometimes I got top 5 depending on whether I put my mind to it. That was the issue I wasn’t into banking at all. I learned a lot about myself though. I developed a knack for sales and decided to pursue a career in pharmaceutical sales after learning about the whole industry from my frat brother. After a number of years in the industry I moved on to medical devices and was very happy until I got laid off again. With the skills I picked up over the years, my friends saw that I had an entrepreneurial mindset and pushed me to be an entrepreneur. This was the time to take their advice and finally get my real estate license. It was a lateral move for me so it made sense. I always had a passion for houses and building relationships so it was a perfect transition for me. That’s how I got into Real Estate

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has NOT been a smooth road. However, I have adapted to the hustle mentality which keeps me in the game. The economy is always a challenge. Right now because interest rates are high it’s causing a lot of problems for buyers. Not to mention inflation is not helping. Inventory is very low so it’s very difficult to find the properties that your client wants. Then there is finding the right caliber of clients. The industry is heavily saturated with realtors so getting choices for prime clients is very slim. There are so many ways to make money in real estate. I feel like the game is always changing and resetting with new strategies.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Realtor. I am also a professional salesman. I sell homes as a realtor which is a byproduct of what I do. My main job is really building relationships. I learned that I have a natural talent for that. I feel as though I can connect with people really well, which gives me an advantage. I’m most proud of my ability to learn a new industry and enhance my business acumen at the same time. I like to think that my use of technology sets me apart from my peers.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters to me is the way I do my business. I always feel as though how you get to the top matters. Being able to set a good foundation is important in my opinion. This is one thing I’ve been working on. What also matters is my character and personal attributes. I feel as though I am the business so I have to keep my mental and physical at top levels. Adopting a healthy lifestyle helps so much.
